I got 2 of my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. The pain literally has me in tears. I was given darvocet A500 for pain; it’s not working at all..... I have another dentist app. in 2 days to get a better pain reliever. What can I do to ease the pain until then? I’m already using ice packs and taking Tylenol every 4 hours
Wisdom teeth pulled yesterday?
Take the Darvocet, which is much stronger than the Tylenol alone. Darvocet A500 is a narcotic class pain reliever related to codeine, compounded with Tylenol, and is one of the stronger pain relievers available in tablet form, and outside of the hospital. Try applying an ice pack, frozen tiny peas work the best as they conform to the facial shape. If you have frozen ice pops, try putting those on the spots that hurt. Ordinarily, the first day after surgery is the worst. Keep drinking fluids, usually the colder you can get them the better it feels. Also lying propped up helps some, as it helps encourage the swelling to drain. If you are really in that much pain, you may need to go to the ER. In hospital they can offer you injectable pain medications, although you may have to be admitted afterwards.
Reply:Try oral gel and Advil. Advil for me is a better pain reliever.
Reply:Tylenol never worked for me- Advil is the only thing that helps with any pain, headaches etc..
Gargle with salt water which will speed up the healing process, and do not put gauze or anything on the canals or you will remove the clots and take longer to heal.
Ice packs do not help and you are placing something hard against it making it more sore and aggravated.
Just let some room temperature salt water sit on them for a few seconds througout the day and get some advil for the discomfort. Within a few days (2-3) you will notice healing taking place and less pain.
Reply:go take the darvocet a500 and rest a bit. thats what i did 3 weeks ago.
