I went today to the Dentist and I need to have all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled. I'm only 15...kinda young, huh?

Anyway who has some really good soup recipes, homemade icream flavors recipes, or anything else really soft that I can eat after the surgery

Thanks %26lt;3

Getting Wisdom Teeth Pulled.?
Ok so I do not have any recipes, sorry, but a word to the wise, try to avoid extremes in temperature (very hot or very cold) If you don't, it can be excruciating!
Reply:After surgery, you're going to want to sleep. I pretty much slept the rest of the day until morning.

In terms of food, mashed potatoes, any type of soups as long as it doesn't have big chunks... apple sauce, yogurt, rice.

For recipes, I like going to allrecipes.com

Reply:I had my wisdom teeth out last year. It is really not so bad, but I've had my tonsils out and it was a horrible experience, so maybe thats why it wasn't so bad.

Its going to be hard the first few hours, because you will have gauze packed in your mouth because of the bleeding. You will have to eat something though to take a pain pill before the numbness wears off though, otherwise you will find it to be very painful.

I mostly ate jello, homemade milkshakes (you will find that dairy products produce alot of phlegm though), rice, and my dad cooked me angel hair pasta, let it cool and topped it with cheese and a little salt. Those were my favorite because they were kind of easy to swallow with minimal chewing, and made my stomach feel like it was actually getting full.

You just have to stay away from very hot foods or drinks, crunchy foods, and straws, for about two weeks after. It can cause dry sockets which are not fun! Your dentist will give you the details on that part though =) good luck!
Reply:Poor you! It's going to be ok...and a good excuse to eat ice cream! Here are a few ideas:

(Carb sources)

-Fruit smoothies

-Jello

-Puddings

-Yogurt

-Creamy mashed potatoes (just add in extra milk or cream)

-Creamy oatmeal

-Malt-o-meal hot cereal

-Soup: Split pea, tomato, cream of mushroom

-Custard

(Protein sources)

-Chicken and rice soup

-Peanut butter

-Eggs: Poached, soft-boiled, scrambled

-Creamy refried pinto or black beans

-Tofu (There is a kind of tofu that is really soft it's called Silken. It is like a thick yogurt. Top it with a little sesame oil, chopped green onions and a little soy sauce. It's good. Or you can just add it to a steamy pot of chicken broth.)

-Steamed fish fillets (seabass, salmon, cod)
