Getting teeth pulled?
Hi hun,

2 molars huh? I' work for an oral surgeon.Extractions are usually not so bad. If you're gonna go to sleep for this then, you needn't concern yourself with anything. Otherwise, it depends on what your molars look like. Are they wisdom teeth? Are they impacted(under your gum), or erupted? How decayed are they? Usually if they are too decayed it will be necessary to split the tooth with a drill and take it out in several pieces. Otherwise, you should just feel some pushing/tugging, but you should be ALL numb. You will feel the pressure of the instrument on you but nothing should feel sharp. Unfortunately there's little that can be done about the pressure you feel with the instrument, but again, it should not be painful. If you do feel a little twinge, don't be afraid to tell your dentist to give you more local anesthetic. It's not as bad as it sounds. I think you'll be just fine.
Reply:If your dentist is good, you won't feel anything but a little pressure. Make sure you are completely numb before giving him the go ahead!
Reply:No it shouldn't hurt if you have a good dentist. However you will never forget the feeling of when they get pulled out.
Reply:it will not hurt at first. the first thing they do is bring you back and give you laughing gas to make you feel like you're floating and kinda sleepy. they'll give you a shot that you will not be able to feel(thank god for laughing gas) and then they'll pull your teeth. so no, it doesnt hurt. and if it does, just take some pain releaver.
Reply:I always get knocked out, best money ever spent!!!
