Does it hurt getting teeth pulled out?
Getting a tooth pulled should not hurt. You will however be able to fell the pressure that is caused by pulling the tooth, freezing does not work on pressure. Pulling a tooth is actually done by pushing and this causes the pressure. Pulling a tooth is also done in stages, first the gums are pushed away from the tooth, next the tooth is pushed from side to side and finally the tooth is pulled-because it is done in stages if it starts to hurt tell the Dentist so he/she can give you more freezing. Saying this, I hope you are either having baby teeth pulled or having teeth removed for ortho reasons because you are way to young to have adult teeth removed.
Reply:HI...Please do not worry about getting your teeth pulled. The dentist will give you some novacain first and that only pinches. You will feel some pressure but not pain. Good Luck....
Reply:No, because they give you a Novocaine shot to numb the area.

You don't feel a thing except for some pressure.
Reply:I had once extracted 3 teeth in one dental appointment and it did not hurt. I must admit it did sting a little after the medicine wore off. But did not last for more than a day. Having a good dentist who does the extraction is important. He/she will know the appropriate amount of drugs to be used on you during and after extraction. Also good skills spare you the agony of having to wait for the dentist to take his/her own sweet time to pull the tooth out.
Reply:I'm a Certified Dental Assistant, so I have assisted with many extractions and have also had two molars extracted. First thing you should know is that everyone is different when it comes to pain. You will first get an injection of anesthetic which will pinch. Once your are numb and the dentist starts the procedure you will feel a lot of pressure, but sometimes pressure doesn't feel to good. But you should not feel any pinches or pain. Also I was wandering why are you have teeth extracted?? Are they permanent teeth?? If they are permanent teeth and they are being extracted for ortho make sure you speak with your dentist or orthodontist first and make sure your permanent teeth need out. There are so many appliances to use to make space for all of your teeth. When orthodontics are down at the office I work in we NEVER extract teeth to make room. We have a Huge book that is full of all kinds of appliances to make space. good luck
