Getting wisdom teeth pulled :(?

Tommorow I am getting 4 wisdom teeth pulled and I am so nervous. I am going to my regular dentist and he is not putting me to sleep. Only giving me laughing gas....has anyone ever heard of this??

Any tips??

If you have had yours done, how long were you out from work?

Getting wisdom teeth pulled :(?
I had the laughing gas when I had my wisdom teeth pulled. I don't remember a thing (thank goodness). I had two teeth impacted so my recovery time was a little longer. I would assume that you'll be up and running within a few days.
Reply:I had four pulled last year. I only received a local anesthetic, which was actually enough. I thought I would need more than that. The dentist will even tell you that you feel more pressure than pain. The only real hassle is keeping the gauze in your mouth afterwards. You will probably bleed for a while, but the medication you get makes you pretty drowsy, so you sleep for a while.

You'll still be nervous going in there, but after the first one is out, you'll figure there's little to worry about. I did go through a lot of gauze, so make sure you have enough of it at home.
Reply:my friend got that laughing gas too. ppl say it feels really good
Reply:Hello, I have had mine taken out a few years ago(All four too). If you smoke.. try not to because you will get "Dry Sockets" and it hurts.. they put cloves to help heal if this would happen to you....

You will be out a couple of days. I was laid up for at least 4days. Just remember you will be swollen like a chipmunk but it will go down. Get your favorite liquids out! You probably won't want to eat any solid food for a few days... Good luck and don't worry you will be fine!!
Reply:i had laughing gas and i was there for about an hour ummm i only needed 3 days off of work but my jaw was a little sore after the operation because i had to have part of my jaw bone removed yea sounds painful......but good luck hope your teeth come out ok
Reply:People have all sorts of reasons for having them removed! If they are healthy, not causing any problems to other teeth, the best I have come across is "They are difficult to keep clean and may cause problems in the future" Regardless I would not have all four extracted at the same time, and I would insist that a local anesthetic be used and lastly that a "Oral Surgeon do the procedure!!! GOOD LUCK!!
Reply:I went to an oral surgeon to have all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed. 36 hours later I ended up in the hospital for 5 days with a staph infection which almost killed me.

I hope and pray you have a better experience than I did.
