Teeth pulled?

does it hurt to get your teeth pulled? and what does it feel like? and also do u think 16 is to old to have ceramic braces like would it look weird?

Teeth pulled?
Lots of questions there!!

1. Does it hurt. -- It can. I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled at the same time, two were impacted (way down in the bone) and there was pain for 3 or 4 days. After that, the pain pretty much went away. However I later had another tooth pulled, and there wasn't much pain on that one at all. So it really depends. If your teeth aren't impacted and if you are young, chances are it won't be too bad. Especially if you do it during the summer and don't have to go to school or work afterwards.

2. What does it feel like. When they are taking the teeth out they can either use more of a local, or a general painkiller. I don't remember anything under the general (wisdom teeth) but I remember what it was like with the local. It really didn't hurt at the time, it felt like tugging. Kind of like pulling a splinger out. I felt it but it didn't hurt.

3. Ceramic braces at 16? No it wouldn't look wierd. Wierd is ceramic braces at 25 because you chose not to get them at 16. While they are noticeable, they aren't as bad as the traditional metal braces. Most people won't notice them much.

Reply:im 14 and ive had 10 teeth extracted. it doesnt feel great to ahve them pulled out. but its not awful. now it DOES hurt when they pull the crown off yer tooth and yer roots are still in there.. lol tht happened to me but i had an inexperienced dentist. it shouldnt happen otherwise. its never too old to have things done, and if people think you look weird, tell em theyre just jealous coz in a while youll look better than them :]
Reply:i don' tknow about the braces part, but i've gotten several teeth pulled. first of ll it depends on wheteher they're baby teeth or adult teeth. if you're 16 then they're probably adult teeth, which hurt more to get pulled. it doesn't hurt to when your teeth actually get pulled out because they give you painkillers through a nedle into your gums. that part hurts a bit

when you go home you mouth will be bleeding alot and you can't eat hard food on account of you might might through your lip because you can't feel it. after a while the drugs start to wear of and your mouth slightly aches, but that's all.

good luck!
Reply:I had 5 teeth pulled last year.

None of them hurt. My destist injected a lot of novacaine and it really numbed it up fine. I could feel some pressure as he pulled but it wasn't anything I would describe as pain.
