I have to get 6 teeth pulled...?

Two are adult teeth, two are baby teeth with no adult teeth under them, and two are baby teeth with adult teeth under them. How badly does it hurt to get adult teeth pulled? will they put me to sleep or just give me the numbing shot?

please only answer if your a dentist/ nurse or if you ever got them pulled. thanks!

I have to get 6 teeth pulled...?
They will numb your gums before extracting the teeth. The only ones that will really bother you at all with be the adult teeth and only after the medicine wears off. But depending on which teeth they are, they really aren't going to bother you too much unless they are cutting them out, if they're just a plain extracting you'll have mild discomfort, but not so much that you'll be screaming, just DON'T SUCK ON A STRAW. You don't want to get dry socket, now THAT hurts. Follow their instructions exactly and you shouldn't have any problems.
Reply:I have gotten teeth pulled before

I'm not really sure if they will give you the numbing shot or what but i am pretty confident that they will give you the numbing shot... it doesn't really hirt at the dentist's office. the only time it hurts is when you get home... you cant really eat anything. My friend got her adultt teeth pulled out and she had to eat ice cream for dinner. dont worry though, the only part that will hurt in the begginning is the numbing shot. 6 teeth is a lot tho... lol... dont worry
Reply:dont worry at all..... you wont feel a thing.. i had several pulled at once and a few "cut out" at the same time..... best thing to eat afterwards is pop cicle type things ( and if you are terrified let the dentist know and he/she will give you something to calm you ..... the pain afterwards isnt all that bad either because they will give you something for it
Reply:Are they pulling all the teeth during one visit?

It will hurt but it's nothing you can't survive.

The worst part about dental work - whether it be surgery or just a cleaning - is having your mouth stretched/open for an extended period of time. I personally think that's worse than the work.

If all of the teeth are being pulled during one visit, you probably can ask to be put "asleep" - ask before showing up though.

Most things are worse in your imagination then real life.

Take a deep breath and relax.
Reply:i am a dental nurse and would say that all extractions should be pain free if they are numbed properly. you will still feel the sensation of pushing / pressure (greater force for adult teeth)but should not feel any pain. if you do you should advise your dentist so that this can be eliminated, please note that badly infected teeth can be difficult to anaesthetise. injections given to numb the teeth may be uncomfortable but the same injections will be given for baby teeth and second teeth. if the teeth were to be removed under general anaesthetic you would have to be referred to have this done in a hospital as it is not practised in general practise any longer although there are different sedation methods available which you could enquire about if you are very nervous. all extraction site will be sore for a few days afterwards but follow the post operative instructions given and this should soon settle, if not recontact your dentist or NHS direct. i hope this has been of some help too you.
Reply:They will give you shots in the gum tissue to numb up your mouth before they take the teeth out. They might even give you nitrous oxide gas to relax you while the procedure is going on. I've had 6 teeth pulled in 1 appointment before getting braces, and it was not pleasant. My mouth was sore, and I felt sick from the nitous oxide gas. Even passed out just as we were getting ready to leave the office.
Reply:Hey!

I got 4 adult teeth pulled at once.

They probably won't put you to sleep. It's not that bad staying awake.

First what will happen is they rub a numbing cream on your gums, which just makes your mouth tingle a little bit. Then they take out their needles, just try not to look at them because they are pretty long. They stick them in very slowwwwly because the slower they do it, the less it hurts. Now, they may give you a shot in some unpeasant places such as the roof of your mouth. That hurts most so be ready!! :]

When they pull the teeth they will frequently ask "Does it hurt?" because they need to know if you need more numbing medicine. Also, it doesn't hurt bad when they are pulling them but you can hear them crack a bit so don't be alarmed. Afterward your jaw hurts for a few days and it sucks you can't eat much, but after a week I promise it will be completly, udderly, back to normalll. :]
Reply:I had to get four adult teeth pulled for braces. They gave me four shots. It just hurts right before they get it out. I had no other pain.
