Okay, so I'm getting my wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow morning and I'm very nervous...not so much about the pain though, I'm nervous that it may mess up my teeth. I went through the whole braces thing, that cost bunches and I don't want my teeth to get messed up in any way. So, if I have this done will it mess up my teeth? Thanks for the help! XD
Can getting your wisdom teeth pulled mess up your teeth?
I think getting your wisdom teeth pulled is a good idea. I also had braces before I had my wisdom teeth pulled. My teeth look fine and even seem a little bit straighter. If you don't have your wisdom teeth pulled, they could come in wrong and crowd your other teeth, and in turn make your teeth crooked again!
It's gonna be uncomfortable but if you follow the doctor's recovery instruction, you shouldn't have any problems...and no matter what...DON'T DRINK OUT OF A STRAW!!!
Good luck!!
Reply:I'd say it's more likely they'll mess up your other teeth if you DON'T have them pulled.
Reply:yes it can...i had my wisdom teeth pulled on one side of my mouth when i really didn't need to and my teeth shifted and now i have gaps in my teeth on that side of my mouth...i used to have a perfect smile...grrrrrrr
cancel your appointment and don't get them pulled unless it's a matter of life and death
Reply:Well most of my friends who go braces had to get teeth pulled in order to straighten them out since these troublesome teeth were part of the problem, so I would say that pulling your wisdom teeth now will save you headache later.
Reply:You get wisdom teeth pulled so your teeth don't get messed up. As your wisdom teeth grow in they could push your other teeth together and on top of each other if there is not enough room in your mouth for them.
Reply:Hahaha...I thought I was alone with this thought of have my wisdom teeth pulled would messed up my teeth...well it is not at all!!!
I wore brace for 4 years and a month...and current wear retainer (at night)...last year (I think...) I have my wisdom pulled out...and it didn't messed up since ever cuz it still look the same and it is in the same position before you have ur wisdom pulled out...
Plus, people cannot see your wisdom bein' pulled out that far inside your teeth...so you have nothin' to worry about!
Good luck! :)
Peace
Reply:no is not gonna mess up your teeth but if you leave them they will mess up.
Reply:If you have this question, I would ask your dentist. I've never heard of this happening and it definitely didn't happen to me. If you don't have them pulled and they break through into your gums they will rearrange your teeth and you probably will get your teeth messed up a little. Im sure it will be fine but ask your dentist/doctor before the procedure.
Reply:I had my wisdom teeth pulled about 10 months ago. In the spaces where the teeth used to be...food got stuck in there all the time and if I left it there for more than 30 minutes, my jaw would swell so I had to be careful about that for the first month, and I had to clean it with a toothpick and hydrogen peroxide. My teeth stayed pretty much the same though, no bad effects - and the operation was ok. It didn't mess up my teeth though - no worries!
Reply:Your teeth could shift if you do get them pulled because the wisdom tooth may be holding them together structurally. If that were to happen, it would most likely not be a major change.
If you don't get your wisdom teeth pulled, you run the risk of actually breaking the rest of your teeth. The reason they pull your wisdom teeth is because there isn't enough room in your mouth to fit all of your teeth, and by keeping the extra teeth in you create a crowding problem. Teeth break and shift to accommodate for the extra wisdom teeth, therefore giving you the worst set of teeth ever.
Reply:no way
Reply:oh my def not. you are suppose to have them pulled so they won't mess up your dental work. both of my kids have had braces alone with my husband and i and we all had to have our wisdom teeth pulled and we all have perfect white teeth. good luck and you have nothing to worry about.
