Teeth pulled?
The most teeth I've had pulled at once were my wisdom teeth, and there was only 3 of them. I actually had 2 pulled and he had to cut the 3rd out of my gums. I was put under for this, so I didn't feel anything of course. Afterwards, I had alot of swelling, and could only eat pudding and stuff, but I think that it was because I had that 1 cut out. I had pretty bad swelling for about 2 days, and then it went down and finally went away. Total swelling time was about 3-4 days. As far as pain goes, yes, there is pain, but it was nothing I couldn't deal with. And I'm a pretty big baby when it comes to pain. Mostly the thing that bothered me is that I had alot of soreness in my jaws. Up to 2 weeks later I still had to eat carefully, because I couldn't open my mouth all the way for like a hamburger and etc. That was probably because it was in the very back of my mouth.

Now, for the next part....I recently had 1 tooth pulled right in front of where I had a wisdom tooth pulled. I was completely awake when it was pulled, and completely scared out of my mind. Fortunately though, my dentist was extremely nice, and baby-talked me through it. He numbed my mouth very good, and I couldn't feel any pain. The only thing that I did feel was pressure. The pressure wasn't that bad either. Kind of like if you stuck your finger in your mouth and started pushing up on one of your teeth. That's it. The only horrible part for me was the sounds. It was terrible, but the dentist kept reminding me as I started crying that it was just sounds. So keep that in mind if you're going to be fully awake. They are just sounds. And the pain for that one was hardly anything. I was still given Lortab, and was also given pain meds with my wisdom teeth, and I barely took them. I think with this most recent tooth pulling, I took the Lortab the first day and that was it. There was still a little soreness around the extraction site, but nothing bad.

As for the time I was out of work...with my wisdom teeth, I left work on a Thursday around 1 pm, and went back to work Monday. That was the 3 teeth. With my other tooth more recently, I had it pulled at about 8am, and went to work right afterwards. No big deal, you'll be fine. Believe me, I was completely terrified of having my tooth pulled while I was awake, and thought that I'd have to call my husband to come and hold my hand.

Good luck! Feel free to message me if have anymore questions, or if need a little pep talk before your extractions!
Reply:I was freaked when I got my teeth pulled too but it is gong to be okay. They insert some numbing medicine into your gums with a needle. It will opinch a little but don't freak out. Then they will opull out tools to take the tooth out, which might look scary. The best hing you can do is to close your eyes and think of someone very special to you. It won't hurt. and email me when you get out of the dentists to tell me how it was. I am here to talk if you need me. emmy7465@yahoo.com
Reply:Believe me you won't even feel it. They will numb you up really good, you might be a little sore after but that's what advil and pain killers are for. You will be fine trust me. Good Luck
Reply:Well, everyone's bodies react differently. I've had a lot of teeth pulled at one time. The molars do hurt and swell more than the ones closer to the front. If the roots are impacted or fused to the jaw, it will be a more painful recovery. It may only be a couple of days that you feeling badly, could be a week. I did the ice afterward to help keep the swelling from getting bad. Just remeber to follow the dentists instructions after they're pulled, it'll help keep the recovery time lower. Good luck, I know what it's like.
Reply:it might b a little sore later in the evening but motrins will take the pain away and there should b no swelling if they is no infestion......a wekk is to long to b out of action it will not b that long and as long as u follow the docs directions like not drinking from a straw ofr no smoking and etc for a the time he says then u will b just fine
