Getting my wisdom teeth pulled!!?

Ok so I'm getting laughing gas when I get my teeth pulled. And I was wondering will I be like completely out of it or will I at least know what I'm saying?? I don't want to say something really stupid..LOL. Trust me I've heard stories about this. Anyways what your take on this, what happened to you when you got you teeth pulled?? Thanks!!

Getting my wisdom teeth pulled!!?
I had gas to get a tooth pulled...you are awake, and coherent, and will know what you are saying....it really does make you laugh!! It just takes the edge off, they will have your tooth out in like 2 minutes! You will be fine!!

I am opting to get put to sleep though with the wisdoms!

Good luck!
Reply:Dont worry about the Gas get your pain medication BEFORE you get them done.Your face could swell up and you will be spitting blood for a day or so.

Good Luck
Reply:With laughing gas you will be able to communicate but you wont be talking about anything important that's for sure. The dentist or nurse will be asking you questions and looking how you answer them, that's just one way they know what level your at but here's the scoop...you will not have any recognition of time, you may know bits and pieces of what they're doing but believe me when I tell you that you WILL NOT CARE!! and about the time you think they are about to get started, you'll be walking into the recovery room waiting for your ride. Good luck to you.
Reply:They only ask you yes or no questions You won't even know its happening

Haha and trust me the only thing you should worry about is the aftermath XD I am sure if you say anything rediculous it will come out as mmffsfklsssssss because you will be too swollen and a little "drugged up" too much for anyone to even understand you.

I heard all I said was a little be of nonsense talking to my self but mostly silence.

lol good luck!
Reply:Laughing gas does take the edge off when you are under the spell of the gas. You will have the sensation of floating in air or something similar. If you have time before your wisdom teeth extraction date, talk to your parents and call your dentist or the oral surgeon doing the extractions and ask about oral sedation along with the nitrous. I personally would recommend being put out for wisdom teeth, but it can be expensive. But, with oral sedation, you take the medication (prescribed by either the dentist or oral surgeon) the night before and then an hour before your appointment and you can walk in and walk out of the office. You will need someone to come with you and stay at the office until you are finished.

But, the the medication has an amnesia effect and you will not remember having the wisdom teeth removed.

I wish you an easy and uneventful surgery. I was put under when I had all 4 removed.
Reply:I just got my wisdom teeth out on Tuesday. I had a relaxing pill I had to take an hour before my appointment. A nurse took my blood pressure when I got in there and I asked if it was good, and she said "yes. it means you're relaxed". I can't remember if I said this or not but I remember thinking "I don't feel relaxed." Then they put the laughing gas mask over my nose. Then they shot me with novocain. The laughing gas affects people differently. It made my boyfriend drowsy when he got his teeth out. But it did make me laugh whenever I tried to talk. I felt very alert. (as i said, it does affect people differently) My doctor said during the operation when he was tugging at one of my bottom teeth "you can curse if you want to. It always helps me." When I replied "It doesn't do anything for me" I was laughing so hard that they (the doctor and nurse) couldn't understand what I said. They both laughed and the nurse said "I didn't understand a word you said". So, for me, I wasn't really out of it, and I knew what I was saying...it's just that I was laughing so hard when I tried to talk that the doctor and nurse couldn't understand me. If you're anything like me, you'll have a very clear mind, but you'll be laughing too hard for anyone to understand you. good luck on your operation.
