Having teeth pulled while your pregnant?

I know having good dental health while your pregnant is important. I am to the point that I know I need to have my teeth pulled and get dentures. However I am scared that having that much dental work will be harmful for the baby? But I am in pain most days and the condition of my teeth is making it hard for me to eat heathly foods.

Anyone have any ideas??

Having teeth pulled while your pregnant?
I am having 6 teeth pulled this week. I am 27 weeks pregnant. I had one pulled when I was 14 weeks. As long as you are being treated to prevent infection you should be fine. They shouldn't be pulled at the start or the very end of pregnancy.

I have 4 wisdom teeth and 2 molars going. I can't wait till the end either.
Reply:Most dental work is okay if you are in your 2nd trimester. Just make sure you check with you doctors. Good luck.
Reply:You have to get a paper from the dentist to take to your doctor to get an "OK" to have dental exams done. and You have to be in your 2nd Trimester.

And of course you need to have your teen done as you can get an infection and it can harm your baby.

My friend had this and she was hospitalized because of an infection in her mouth, its very dangerous, so its very good that you want to take action now.
Reply:talk to your dentist. some dentist will not touch you while pregnant.
Reply:I had to have a tooth pulled while I was pregnant. Basically, they try not to do it in the first trimester unless you have infections or something that would put your baby at risk. If you're otherwise healthy and in the second trimester then it's likely they would do some dental work. Having ALL of your teeth pulled sounds excessive- I'd talk to both your dentist and you OB- they'll direct you to a safe plan.
Reply:I have had teeth pulled while I was pregnant but not all of them. I would talk to your dentist and ob they are the only ones who know best.
Reply:My sister had all of her teeth pulled when she was 7 months pregnant and got dentures. It didn't harm my nephew in any way whatsoever. It will be okay. It will be better in the long run to have all your teeth pulled now so you can eat better for the baby. It will not harm him/her. Be brave!
Reply:i had 2 teeth pulled 2 different cleanings 3 different times where i went in and got fillings and had a partial made and everytime they used the numbing stuff its diff. than the stuff they use on non preg. peeps its not as strong but i believe since i did that all in a matter of the first 3 mths of my preg. and im still preg. at 39 weeks its safe
Reply:ask your doc if what he will do will be harmful for your baby or not
Reply:i would be scared of exesive dental work while pregnant... just because of the risk of infection...
Reply:Hi, I started losing teeth early in my second trimester and they could not find out why for a long time. The dentist sent me to a gum specialist who sent me back to the regular dentist. Many specialists later they decided all of my teeth had to go but said there was no hurry so I waited until after the baby was born. They said they could do it during the pregnancy if I insisted.

Check with your ob/gyn and the dentist to determine what is best for the baby.

Feel free to contact me if you want to discuss this and dentures.
