Teeth pulled, nearly a week later there is extreme swelling in throat and mouth?

This is about my mother, not myself...I%26#039;m obviously worried though. Last Wednesday, my mom had two teeth pulled - one was for an infection in a tooth (root canal which she put off for weeks if not months) and the other was a wisdom tooth right behind the one pulled because the doctor advised it would give her trouble if the infection spread under it. I think it already may have...

So now it%26#039;s been about 5 days and she%26#039;s worse than ever. Mouth is extremely swollen, she hasn%26#039;t been eating or drinking much because not only does she have no appetite but her throat is so swollen it is very hard to swallow. She was prescribed pain killers (vicodine) and an anti-infectant (amoxycillin).

She%26#039;s going back in tomorrow to have it checked but we aren%26#039;t sure if we should take her to the emergency ward right now or not...is there anything she can be prescribed for the severe swelling in her throat? Or something she can use to help it? She said drinking cold stuff doesn%26#039;t help at all. Help

Double check her allergies. Lots of people have a reaction to vicodin (hydrocodone is the ingredient) and amoxicillin. She may be having an allergic reaction!!! See the Doc quickly!
