HAVING 29 teeth pulled in one day HELPPPPP?
are there even 29 teeth in your mouth?
Reply:I dont have bad teeth but this BLAH! thing you are talking about is something that I have experienced before
Reply:Ask for a vallium or to have you knocked out. That%26#039;s going to be a lot of work to be awake for.

Also, are you having implants put in?
Reply:I am sure you will feel fine in a little while. The person above obvioulsy doesn%26#039;t know what ativan IS...its pretty powerful stuff.
Reply:Painkillers, Bro....thats all I can think of. Lots and lots of Painkillers!!!
Reply:OWWWWWW. you ae going to be one very unhappy person for the next month or so.i had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled in one sitting and i couldnt move my mouth for almost a month. Good luck, and make sure you have a good blender. You will need it.
Reply:So I assume your getting dentures being u will only have 7 teeth left
Reply:What severe gum disease do you have that it results in you having to get rid of 29 teeth?

EDIT: I read your other questions and you posted before about them removing 17 teeth, how did it escalate to 29? I want to know...hygenist in the making, here.
Reply:ummm... get pain killers?

OMG your only gonna have like 3 teeth!

I%26#039;m gonna pray for you :)

GET WELL SOON
Reply:My exhusband had ALL his teeth pulled in one day. Although, he was put to sleep. I%26#039;d think the dentist knows what he/she is doing. I think between the gas and ativan you should be alright. If they sense any issues, they will stop.
Reply:Uh, first thing you should do is get a second opinion before you go through an operation like that. If it%26#039;s legit, then you%26#039;ll have to learn to talk without teeth for a couple of days to a week until your gums heal over and then they%26#039;ll fit you with dentures. If they are pulling that many out, they need to pull all of them! Having one or two teeth is worse than having none. Good luck!
Reply:It will be a breeze if they even just give you ativan or gas. Anything like this helps you forget what ime it is so you won%26#039;t realize how long it is taking. They will probably give you breaks between so it will be ok. You will obviously be sore for a while, but it will be fine. It is better this way b/c everything will heal together. I am not going to tell you it won%26#039;t be sore b/c it will for probably at least 1 week. However, the dentist will give you meds. With the ativan and gas you can do it fine. Take your vitamins you will heal faster and if you are getting immediate dentures be sure to wear them even if they are sore so your gums will heal to them and they will fit better. I figure you probably are one of the few lucky ones that got Aggresive periodontal disease. Most people will not understand that you can go from having good teeth and bone 1 day to losing it all in a matter of months. It might have been treatable with load of bone grafts, sugeries, and a periodontist.
Reply:holy $h!+! theres like going to be like no teeth in ur mouth! lol

i had some of my teeth pulled..not that much..do u like even brush?? well, they had to put me to sleep to do it...cuz im like really scared of dentists...lol so yeah idk how it felt..but afterwards, i was hurting like a b!+ch..lol
Reply:So your pratically teethless now ..

sorry.
Reply:i too had all my teeth pulled in one day. its alot easier on the body to do it that way because healing will be faster. i only had pain for about 3 days and i drank alot of cold liquids to help. i had gum disease because a potato chip split my gums and infection set in. had to get alot of gauze to put into my mouth right after but the bleeding stops rather fast. you%26#039;ll feel strange, don%26#039;t try to close ur jaws all the way because it will hurt and you%26#039;ll feel pieces of tooth still in ur gums. those will be pulled out later by the oral surgeon. your temporary new teeth wont fit perfect because your mouth is swollen. permanent dentures will fit almost perfect. don%26#039;t worry, just relax as much as you can.
Reply:I had to get 4 teeth pulled b/c I was getting braces. They put an IV in my hand which knocked me out. They had all 4 teeth pulled in less thatn 30min.

Im pretty sure your dentist knows what he%26#039;s doing. He/She probably thinks you can handle it! Between the gas and activian, you will be drowsy and a little numb. It will all proabably be over quickly!

I will pray for you! You can get through this!

The dentist will probably give you some kind of pain medicine!

Good Luck!!!! :)
Reply:YOU%26#039;RE GETTING FULL-MOUTH EXTRACTION. THIS IS GOOD FOR SOME CASES. IMMEDIATE DENTURES WILL BE PUT THE SAME DAY.

YOU WILL BE PLEASED DOWN THE ROAD.
Reply:I have done 14 at the time but never that many but you will heal will require more sedation %26amp; antibiotics!! Doc W
Reply:Nobody here has the right to judge your (or anyone else%26#039;s) situation, so hopefully everyone is mature enough to respect one another. If not, go surf around and harass someone elsewhere.

Remember that they (DDS) do this for a living and you%26#039;ll be in good hands...they won%26#039;t let anything happen to you that would jeopardize your health or their career.

I know it%26#039;s hard not to get nervous and fear the worst. Ativan (lorazepam) is an anti-anxiety medication that will definitely relax you and take the edge off quite a bit...you will also be drowsy if not drifting in and out of sleepiness. The nitrous oxide will enhance this effect and together, you should feel no pain at the time of the extractions; perhaps just some pressure. If you do feel pain, alert them immediately so they can control it for you. (Who knows, maybe they will give you some local anesthetic to numb you too?!?!) They%26#039;ll make sure you have a prescription for pain medication/anti-inflammatory after wards and give you explicit instructions that you need to follow in order to achieve the best outcome. I%26#039;m not sure when, but I%26#039;m assuming you%26#039;ll be fit for dentures soon. There may be some healing time allotted between the extractions and the denture fit, but soon you%26#039;ll be happy with your new smile!

Good Luck!
Reply:I just had it done last tuesday and I paid 500 to be put to sleep and yes my teeth were exactly like yours I am trying to get used to the dentures but my gums are still sore but I wont have all those toothaches and you will be on a soft diet and yes I was scared it changed my appearance especially with no teeth its something we will have to get used to they told me 6-8 weeks of waiting until my gums heal I wish i could afford implants but unless I win the lottery that isnt going to happen so go to your appointment and get through it and I know its a adjustment but you can do this and yes I wish i would have taken of my teeth good luck
Reply:There are some dental conditions that will destroy your teeth other than neglect, people!

Years ago this was a lot more common. My roommate at school had a parent and a brother who had to have all their teeth pulled [ some acid saliva thing. ]

You will probably feel a lot better a few weeks after the teeth are out - because all those germs and decay will be gone!

Stock up on all your favorite liquids, hot cereals, eggs to scramble or soft boil, soups, jello, pudding, etc.

If you crave meat, don%26#039;t chew it the first few days - cut in tiny pieces, hold in mouth to get the flavor, and swallow it without chewing [ til holes close up a little ].

DON%26#039;T take your mads on an empty stomach - drink nutritious fluids like soup, juice, jello.

FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS carefully! You will feel better faster, and look better faster also.

Buy some reusable cold packs, to use when you get home.

Wrap them up in a paper towel, so the ice doesn%26#039;t touch your skin.
Reply:If the teeth have to go, they have to go. You will ultimately feel better because there will be no more infection, so your health will improve.

I hope you can hang around %26quot;bald%26quot; until you get your new teeth, and then come back here to talk about them....

They don%26#039;t have to put you to sleep. It happens pretty fast, really -- the whole experience will probably be over in an hour or so.

Ultimately, you will probably be much happier, although that will take some time (you have to get your new teeth and get used to them.

My advice would be to just accept what is and move on to the next step, at ever step in this new journey.

If you need some support, there is a very good mailing list

http://yahoogroups.com/group/dentureadve...

there are a number of people there who have been through the exact same thing you are going through, and they are very happy to help out with advice.
Reply:I%26#039;ve never had any teeth pulled because I brush them......
