Stupid question i know but can gaps be formed by pulling out wisdom teeth?

I believe some people take them out so their other teeth can fit. So is there a possibility when they are removed that the others can fall back into the missing tooths gap and leaving your whole mouth filled with gaps.

Stupid question i know but can gaps be formed by pulling out wisdom teeth?
Well, since I%26#039;m not a dentist or have any medical degree, I can only tell you from personal experience that, having had two of my wisdom teeth removed, both on the right side, twenty or so years ago, I have never observed any widening between any of my other teeth, top or bottom, and my bottom teeth, up front, are just a slight bit crowded, as they have been since I was a kid, and they still are, twenty-some-odd years after those two of my wisdom teeth were removed. I hope this sheds at least some light on the subject for you. God Bless you.
Reply:Well my friend, God created our teeth having a tendency in moving towards Mesial drift i.e.(towards the incisors) to minimize the gap between teeth for better occlusion of teeth, No there is totally no relation between gaps and wisdom tooth...

:-)
Reply:Dr. Nigoumi is correct. Through thousands of years of evolution, the wisdom teeth really no longer serve a purpose. In fact, they usually cause crowding of the other teeth, so removal of wisdom teeth is often the treatment of choice. There should be no problem with teeth drifting apart after removal of wisdom teeth. In fact, this is often done to alleviate the crowding.
Reply:Taking out wisdom teeth will not leave gaps in your mouth. Unless there is an active force (orthodontic treatment, eruption of surrounding teeth etc... ),that moves the teeth towards that empty space then it will not move it to that area.

Incidentally, %26quot;wisdom teeth%26quot; are removed for several reasons. Orthodontic movement is only one of these reasons. They may be a source of s host of other problems including periodontal, cyst and tumors.

Cyst and tumors usually go unnoticed because they do not present with signs and symptoms early on their onset. They usually get discovered accidentally through routine radiographic (X-ray) procedures for some other treatment purpose.
