I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled and they asked was i pregnant and i said no because i received my period the day before the surgery, this was last month but i took a test and now i am pregnant.
1. I had X-rays
2. they used the gas mask,
3.Then i was put to sleep by IV
4. And lastly i had after care pills like motrin
I am not sure if i got pregnant BEFORE my surgery or durring recovery :) it has been a little over a month and i dont know how far along i am..............
The question is what are my risks of having a miscarrage or a deformed baby!! :(
WHOA!! I had teeth pulled and just found out im pregnant!!?
as long as it wasnt during surgery (getting pregnant i mean)
and
i am so sorry for your teeth
and congratulations for your baby
only a specialist would know if your teeth ,and the drugs are relevant to your babies normality
you should ask your doctor these things first ,instead of a bunch of answer junkies ,with red eyes .of having to little sleep.
Reply:Thorough dentist! Hope he didn't find any cavities!
Reply:You probably became pregnant in recovery, as if you had your period before it's unlikely you were pregnant then. Please see a doctor, just to enquire. they know more than us.
Reply:don't worry to much just make sure you tell your doctor you are planning on seeing and congrats and good luck :)
Reply:the baby should be ok. i was on a lot of harmful arthritis medication when i found out i was pregnent. i was terrified because one medication in particular caused horrible birth defects. thankfully our baby boy was 100 per cent healthy. got to your doctor and get an ultra sound, they can tell if there is any thing major wrong. but fingers crossed everything will run smoothly. good luck
Reply:If you got yout period the day before the surgery then you didn't conceive until after that. So you conceived sometime within the last month and you should be ok. When you do go see a Dr let them know your cycle dates and when you had your dental surgery, etc... Good Luck with your baby!
Reply:Just let your doctor know but everything will probably be okay. Some people may drink and/or smoke etc for a couple of months if they don't know they are pregnant.
Reply:Okay, when they tell you that you are, say, 6 weeks pregnant, you have NOT been pregnant for six weeks. They go by the first day of your last period, and at that point in time, you are not pregnant. You actually conceive about 2 weeks later, during ovulation.
That being said, you were not pregnant when you got your teeth pulled, so your baby will be fine.
I have taken some heavy painkillers before I found out I was pregnant (with my son, my first child). They told me as long as I wasn't still taking them, the baby would be fine, and he was!
Don't worry, because the stress isn't good, and it's for nothing.
If you're still concerned, ask your doctor when you go in for a confirmation pregnancy test, and he/she will lay your fears to rest.
Keep going to the dentist, though, because tooth decay/problems can lead to premature birth, and there are some tooth problems (gingivitis) that happen more frequently during pregnancy. I get gingivitis every time I'm pregnant, but have no problems when I'm not, so at least have your teeth cleaned once by your dentist in the next 4 or so months. Good luck
