I had teeth out on tuesay and my jaw still hurts where i got the injection when i open my motuh wide. and the tooth next to the one that was pulled out really hurts. could it be because i keep putting my tongue in the gap?
Have you ever had teeth pulled out? how long did i take to stop hurting?
first of all, get your tongue out of there! that's why they tell you not to use a straw. you're not supposed to suck the clots out. it will heal faster. it will hurt for several days, maybe a week , don't take aspirin, it will thin your blood. take non-aspirin for it. you will still feel a tiny bit of "pain" there for a long time. my guess is the one next to it hurts because they put pressure on it when they pulled the other tooth. if you don't have a follow-up visit scheduled make one if you think things aren't normal in the next few days.
Reply:just thought i'd tell you all that it's not infected, the tooth next to it is just moving into it's spot. everything is as it should be. Report It
Reply:it can hurt for a week or so, maybe 2 weeks if its a wisdom tooth... it will take 6 weeks to heal completely
use some paracetamol for the pain
Reply:I think that it depends on where in your mouth you had them removed. Like in the front there are less roots to pull and in the back of your mouth there are more. But anyway to answer your question my mouth hurt for almost two weeks afterwards.
Reply:Don't put your tongue over the wound dude, it's like playing with a scab on your knee. Call your dentist and tell them your mouth is sore. Rinse out your mouth with warm (not hot) water with salt in it. It disinfects the wound I think my dentist told me.
Reply:Mine hurt for about a week, but you should call the dentist and have him look at it to make sure it didnt get infected.
Reply:I had all my teeth pulled at 21, my gums iched more than hurt, but they did hurt, the Dr had me use iodine salt and warm water, do not swollow, get your tounge out of that socket or youll think hurt,
Reply:I would let your dentist know about that. Your dentist must have rested his pry bar on the tooth next to the one that they were going to loosen it up before pulling it out. Most dentist give you a prescription of pain pills just for that, but I still would call them.
Reply:Yes it is, let the gum heal and only eat soft food
until all pain is gone. Also, take into account that
the neighboring tooth no longer has the support it
had before, and the tendency is to fill the gap. So
you will feel some pressure, but not pain unless an
infection has set in. The lost tooth should be replaced,
unless the lost one was a wisdom tooth (back Tooth)
Clear your mind and the pain will go
away. And stop poking your tongue into a healing tissue!
Reply:im just in primary school...i pluck out my teeth by myself..and the next day i wont even feel a thing...just remember to put ice over the socket to stop the bleeding .thats wat my mom always tell me
Reply:The shots are worse than getting the teeth pulled sometimes. I had really bad teeth all thru school, had quite a few out along the way and finally had them all pulled soon as I turned 18. The shots are worse than having the teeth pulled sometimes, but usually feels pretty much back 2 normal in a week or 2 at the most. Usually ok in 4-5 days.
