Does pulling out a non-wiggly tooth at the dentist hurt?
I had my wisdom tooth and the tooth in front of it pulled yesterday and it really isn't as bad as you think. I never had to have a tooth pulled so I was nervous that it would be painful. When he pulled out my wisdom tooth all I really felt was pressure, but he had to work wih it. The other tooth he just got out really fast (less than a minute) with very little pressure. Be brave and don't scare yourself. A little pressure/pain is better than the alternative. Good luck.
Reply:The dentist will numb up the area and you shouldn't feel a thing, apart from maybe the injection.
Reply:Hi--they will FREEZE you--the freezing may actually hurt just so you know.

The tooth probably won't as once they pull it, your nerves will die all around the same time, the nerves are what bring the news to the brain that you are in pain.
Reply:good luck . glad it's not me. not too bad with a good dentist
Reply:I'm sure they will deaden it and you won't be able to feel anything while they are doing it. Like getting cavities filled....I'm sure it would hurt to feel your tooth getting drilled away but all you feel is a little vibration. You might feel some pressure but they aren't going to yank it out cold! That would be cruel.

Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon!
Reply:It usually doesn't hurt because they will more than likely numb the area. That usually takes a few seconds. Thats actually the most pain you will feel during the procedure.

After your numb you will likely feel the pressure of them pulling on the tooth. But, that doens't hurt. Believe me I've been there, I had my wisdom teeth removed several years ago. It'll be fine. Just follow the dentists after care plan. Take care~
Reply:They will numb the area with Novocaine, so it should not hurt. The Novocaine shot hurts a bit, but it's quick.
Reply:First of all, the dentist numbs your mouth. The needle just pinches a little. If it is a baby tooth it really shouldn't hurt because there is no root. If it is an adult tooth, the longer the root the more pain there will be. I had four adult teeth pulled at once. The pain just lasted a couple seconds each. It really wasn't that bad. Don't be nervous.
