Help, i need to get my teeth pulled!?

Well i really hate needles and when i go for cavaties i ask the dentist to not use novacaine, i just cant stand shots.

So i am getting 3 baby wisdom teeth pulled out 2 on the bottom 3 on the top.

My dentist said if i can wiggle them or pull them out somehow i wont need to, obviously, have them pulled out.

ANY SUGGTESTIONS ONN WHAT TO DO!?

Help, i need to get my teeth pulled!?
Well the best thing to do is a,llow him to put a shot in your mouth if he does it right you shouldnt feekl it. My dentiosts always wiggle my lip so I dont feel it works very well and never can feel the shot. Ask him about that. Believe me without the shot it will hurt a hek of alot worse. I also hate needles and never look at them while they givge me a shot just dont look and tell the doctor not to show you.
Reply:Both kids just had them taken out....it sounds bad but isn't ....you don't really feel the shot....besides the small shot is better than one of the teeth being impacted.
Reply:Ask the dr to use "topical", its a numbing jelly they put on a q-tip then they put it on the gums where the needle has to go. It numbs the skin so you don't feel it. You could also try laughing gas. It doesn't make you laugh, don't worry...it just makes you relax a little so you don't worry about what's happening. It will be fine! Or you could focus on wiggling them! Good luck!

Can I get my wisom teeth pulled for free in Ontario?

I do not have dental and my wisdom teeth have been growing in for about a year now. I can't stand the pain anymore. Is there any way I can get my teeth pulled for free?

Can I get my wisom teeth pulled for free in Ontario?
Go find your local health clinic. Maybe they know of a dentist that will donate his time, or will do the work for a reduced rate, or will allow you to pay this off in installments. Otherwise, if there's a dental school in your area, ask if they accept patients for teaching purposes.
Reply:ha ha dream on! are you a student? pay like I did last week, 600 bucks!
Reply:In Joyceville Penitentiary as well as in other similar places they do it for free:

Reply:I know it cost my parents about 750 for my brothers 4 wisdom teeth to come out. It's something that you have to pay for which kind of sucks..so you might as well start setting some money aside for them to come out :(, it has to be worth it to get out of the pain.

Will the dentist give me my teeth after he/she pulls them?

I am going to the dentist on Monday to have 7 teeth pulled (4 wisdom, 1 extra wisdom, 1 molar in front of the lower wisdom and 1 upper tooth. If I want to keep one of my wisdom teeth will they give it to me, or is there some policy that says they have to dispose of the teeth?

Will the dentist give me my teeth after he/she pulls them?
You can ask for the teeth, but if there is any decay on a tooth it is considered a bio-hazard and they aren't supposed to let it leave the office without proper disposal. Ditto for teeth that come out in pieces. Hopefully you'll be able to take home that extra wisdom tooth (if it's an upper it may come out intact), they usually look like cute little mini-molars!!
Reply:No they will give to you if you want them.
Reply:wow that's a lot of teeth. = a lot of pain.
Reply:they will give it to u. just ask for them
Reply:from my personal experience, yes they will give them to you if you ask for them. be warned though... the wisdom teeth don't always come out in one piece!
Reply:The dentist will give you your teeth if you ask for them. When my husband had his teeth pulled, I asked the dentist for the molars and made a pair of earrings out of them. That was back in my biker days, though. The husband and the earrings are long gone now.
Reply:If you ask them they will give you the tooth, but I remember when the first time I went to a dentist this lady didn't give me the tooth eventhough I told her I wanted to take it home. So, its all about the luck of the draw, if you get nice people they might give it to you, if not they won't.

Have a nice time at the dentists office. I'm glad all my teeth have been squared away.

How long to wait after teeth pulled?

how long do i have to wait untill i can drink alcohol again if i had 2 teeth pulled i can eat solid food and theres no bleeding but i do have stitches there but there disolvable and i got them pulled 2 days ago (tuesday)

How long to wait after teeth pulled?
You should be ok at this point as long as you are no going to drink a large amount of alcholol. Alcohol thins the blood and that might make it likely for you to end up with a dry socket, but dry socket usually happens within 48 hours of the extractions. Be gentle to yourself, you are still healing....

Hope that helps!

My 10 month baby boy got two sharp teeth at lower jaw. He is bitting and pulling wildly while I nurse. Help.?

I wish to nurse him for more months till he likes. But it is very hard and painful to nurse him. If I tell him not to do that he does more and more. what to do?

My 10 month baby boy got two sharp teeth at lower jaw. He is bitting and pulling wildly while I nurse. Help.?
I had the same problem.

You need to firmly (with a strong, fairly loud voice), say, "NO!" when he tries to pull away, or when he bites you. You want it to be something that will startle him - that is a feeling that he won't like, and if he can associate not liking the feeling with the action, he will learn to stop doing it. Just telling him not to do it in your regular, nicey-nicey baby voice will not do the trick.

This is just the beginning of you teaching him what is not okay.

If he doesn't change his behavior right away, you will need to stop nursing. At 10 months, he should already be starting on other foods, so he shouldn't be missing any nutrition.
Reply:I think I would consider him lucky and switch to formula for the last 2 months. Ouch. Sorry for your pain.
Reply:u should probably stop if u want to keep ur breast
Reply:It's time to switch to bottle feed. When babies start to have teeth, they have the urge to bite on things.
Reply:You have to inturrupt the nursing. As soon as he bites you need to look directly in his eyes and say "OUCH!" very firmly with a hurt expression on your face. Then immediatly remove him from the breast. wait about 30 seconds then try it again. Keep going with that until he understands that biting = no food.

he will get it. My daughter did.
Reply:I would just switch over to formula. When kids get their new teeth in they love to bite on animals, teething rings, bottles they get those urges and well I guess they like to try the new teeth out. If he starts randomly chewing on your arms or something else then you have a little something to contorl there. It is just what kids do.
Reply:That sounds painful. Why don't you try a breast pump and use a bottle? Or try to get him to understand that he can't do that.
Reply:my wife went through this with our daughter

what she did was switch to useing a breast pump and bottle feeding until the teething stage past then went back to normal nursing...Part of that is real mothers milk is way better for a kid then the stuff that comes in a can the second part was we were young and mostly broke back then so it was cheaper!
Reply:I had same problem since he was 7 months old, now he is 12 months old.

When he first realize he got teeth (same, 2 at the bottum), he was "trying" to bite me. Everytime he tried to so, I stopped nursing and told him " No, you hurt me" and gave him some timeout (time out from my breast). After couple times try, he stopped doing it. When he was 9 months old, he was teething badly, at that time, he bite me again. I did the same routine and he stopped also. I think it is just stages they go through.

May be you can try the trick, or, during this hard time, pump out your milk and give him in bottle.
Reply:I have told my baby no firmly and put him down on the floor. It took a few tries but he hasn't bitten me in a few weeks. It might help to say ouch that hurts mommy.
Reply:That tends to happen maybe he doesn't want to be nursed anymore. Also when you tell him to do that he probably thinks that you are playing around with him.Maybe you should stop.
Reply:I have heard of covers you can put on your nipples to protect from biting babies, but I dont know where you can get them. count your lucky stars you breast feed this long I only could for 5 weeks each baby. maybe its time for bottle even if you pump so he still gets breastmilk
Reply:My son did that at 7 months...its a good sign to start weaning. You can still pump and give him breastmilk in a bottle
Reply:flick his cheak. not too hard, but he will associate biting with pain and will learn to stop. he will get his feelings hurt at first but it will be ok.
Reply:He can't help himself. He's way too young to be able to control himself like that.

You may have to reconsider your breastfeeding plan. Maybe try pumping.
Reply:Try pulling him in close for a few seconds when he does that. Eventually he will connect biting with having a hard time breathing. I read that in the Baby Book by Dr. Sears It sounds mean but it might work.

I've never had to try it but give it a shot
Reply:My mom said that I tried to bite when I was your sons age and that she would flick my cheek while looking at me and say "Ouch that Hurts" very firmly with her voice raised. She says the first time she did it it scared me and I cried a little. She said it only took her two days and I never did it again. When I started getting the rest of my teeth she just said that she would look at me if I stopped nursing and that the eye contact would get me back on track for eating because she would ask "are you done?". She/I stopped nursing when I was 15 months old.
Reply:1. Unlatch him from the breast immediately and say "Ouch" or "Biting hurts mama" or something like that. Try not to get too angry or make a HUGE deal of it. You'll need to keep your finger very close to his face so that you can unlatch quickly when he starts to bite.

2. When you nurse, have at the ready something he CAN bite as soon as you take the nipple away. You want something cold and perhaps hard (a piece of ice in a baby-safe feeder or a wet, frozen washcloth) so that he begins to learn that warm, soft nipples are not for biting, but cold, hard things are good for biting. He's probably teething and really does need to chew on something--you just need to teach him what he can and can't bite.

Good luck!

Should i get my wisdom teeth pulled?

my dentist recomends to all his younger patients to get their wisdom teeth pulled. I havent got mine pulled yet adn was wondering if i should go or not?

Should i get my wisdom teeth pulled?
It depends on whether you have room in your mouth for them or not.
Reply:If they cause pain
Reply:The sooner the better. It just gets worse as you get older. The roots grow deeper and they're harder to get out.
Reply:Get a second opinion. Any surgery is a risk, and if your teeth aren't causing you pain at the moment, don't have them removed.
Reply:I thought if you didn't pull them out they eventually become more irritating and later on a huge problem. So from what I've heard...I think you should get them taken out...
Reply:It's really up to you, if they aren't bothering you, then why should you? I had one pulled because it needed to be, but the others haven't given me any problem.
Reply:IF YOUR FEMALE YOU GET THEM ALL PULLED FOR OBVIOUS REASONS
Reply:Get them extracted only if there is or will become a potential problem. A good thing to do is get your dentist to take a panoramic radiograph. That will show all your wisdome teeth, the position in the jaw, and in relation to all the other teeth. Wisdom teeth can indeed become a problem but keep a watch on them.

Good luck
Reply:I had mine pulled when I was around 22 or 23 because they were impacted. I'm not a dentist, but I think it's typical for most people to have their wisdom teeth pulled because they cause lots of problems.
Reply:it all depends, but it makes your cheeks swell up like a chipmunk
Reply:They in general are not useful for anything.

And sometimes they are bad for they cause problem for the other teeth.

That was the reason I had mine wisdom teeth pulled.

They were pushing the other teeth forward.
Reply:Sandy B is right.
Reply:might as well get it over with. i got mine out last summer and my sister got hers out today. my dentist said I had to get them out because I had no room for them. my sister was having trouble because her wisdom teeth were growing and causing pain. I had a horrible experience but I had a horrid doctor. She had a diff. guy and he was excellent. As a matter of fact, my sister is walking and talking just fine. She thought this would be the most terrible experience of her life. It's not that bad. Get it over with now so you don't have to bother later. Good luck! -Toothless
Reply:I have had only two wisdom teeth pulled and I'm 30. They only reason I had them pulled is because they finally were causing me pain. It depends on if you have enough room for them or if they cause you pain. Even though I was older when I got them done, my dentist said it was no different than pulling them on a younger patient. Good luck!
Reply:If a wisdom tooth causes you pain, then definitely get it pulled out. In fact, if you can afford it, I would at the same time get the other 3 wisdom teeth pulled out. It saves you pain and money in the long run.

Do you have to get Wisdom teeth pulled???

I haven't got mine pulled yet and was wondering why do u have to and if not then why do so many ppl get them pulled. what are the benefits of getting ur wisdom teeth pulled and what are the cons.

Do you have to get Wisdom teeth pulled???
Not everyone needs to get them pulled. They are supposed to be a left over from our cave man days - coming in later in life after to replace teethe that may have broken off gnawing on bones. Some jaws are just not big enough to accommodate the extra teeth and the wisdom teeth may grow in sideways or interfere with nerves etc. That is when they need to be removed. They are a bit smaller than the other molars and being so far back may be cause for hygiene problems - prompting removal for prophylactic reasons only.
Reply:I don't have to. I was born without them. hahahahahahahaha. Shalalalala
Reply:you don't have to get them out ,if they come in right under the molar as they will just push the molar out
Reply:Most of the time, yes.

If you don't have extra space between your teeth, then it's a good idea to have them removed.

My TMJ got better after mine were removed.
Reply:not all people have their wisdom teeth taken out. You only need to if they cause you problems. Often people's jaw or mouth is not large enough for all the teeth to fit comfortably so it is common to have the wisdom teeth pulled if they look likely to cause a problem. If you reach adulthood without them taken out it is unlikely you will need to.
Reply:Okay I can help you with this one I just got one of mine pulled which I was like you not wanting to I was busy and in school . Well it decided to really start growing in the last month of school with finals and all. It was so painful I didn't have room in my mouth and my jaw was limited to opening. I really suggest you get them out I think they have a mind of their own and they can come out anyway they want and you can't say if they will be painful, mess up your other teeth or seriously cause an infection.
Reply:not always. Sometimes your wisdom teeth can grow in normally and not bother you at all. but most of the time they can grow in and your mouth is too small so it hurts really bad. Getting them pulled you dont have to deal with the pain anymore.. so that's good.. but a bad thing is if you dont like needles cuz they put me to sleep when i had mine done, also your mouth could bleed a lot for a few hours after you get them pulled. another is if you eat something it could get stuck in the hole where your tooth once was and that hurts pretty bad too.
Reply:You only need to get them pulled if they start to cause you problems. My top front teeth used to be straight but because I did not get both top wisdom pulled, my left tooth overlaps the right one a bit. I wish I had them both pulled at the same time.

I'm getting teeth pulled but have a canker sore. Is this going to be a problem?

So, next week I am getting my wisdom teeth pulled. Right now I have a canker sore. I know in some situations doctors will postpone a surgery in the mouth area if there are cold sores i think because they don't want to risk spreading bacteria or something of that sort. Do you know if this is the same with canker sores? Do you this a doc will postpone due to canker sore?

I'm getting teeth pulled but have a canker sore. Is this going to be a problem?
Call your dentist now. There are prescription medications that can help them to heal in time. Good luck.
Reply:canker sores and cold sores are different from each other, as cold sores come from viral infection while canker sores are merely irritation or trauma. canker sores are not contagious as well. the best thing you can do is ask you dentist about it. there are also helpful remedies to hasten the healing period of canker sore, try http://www.oramd.com/canker-sore-cure.ht... . canker sores doesn't mean you can neglect your oral hygiene as well.

I might have to get my adult teeth pulled up, what happens and does it hurt?

I've gotten 8 teeth pulled and am going to get 2 more pulled very soon. The orthodontist said that they might have to pull my teeth up and I'm kind of nervous.

I might have to get my adult teeth pulled up, what happens and does it hurt?
Hi, You are going to be alright. You all ready have a good number pulled and you are doing good. If you are like some people who get a reaction after the teeth are pulled, your face and head would swell up like a basket ball.I saw a person in this condition and all she did was scream.Good Luck
Reply:Well you've already had 8 teeth pulled. I'm pretty sure you already know what it feels like. The real question is are you going to do anything to prepare for the pain? They inject your teeth with a numbing substance but will you spend the extra 200 dollars to be put to sleep? Are you willing to do something? It doesn't matter how it feels because apparently you're gonna do it anyways.
Reply:Its nerve-wracking! I have had 2 pulled. They numb you pretty well so you dont feel pain, just pressure! But its over in less than 5 minutes!

Good Luck!!
Reply:if u have a good dentist, itll be completely painless

Does getting your teeth pulled out hurt?

hey im 14 and i have to get 4 teeth pulled out for braces and im scared to death should i be? or is there nothing to worry about ? i think im gonna die!!!!!!

Does getting your teeth pulled out hurt?
You'll be fine. When I was your age I had a molar pulled by my orthodontist. I had no idea he was going to do it, or was preparing to do it. I felt a little tug, and had no idea what happened. Didn't hurt a bit. You're going to be fine.
Reply:not when anaesthetics are used u normally dont even feel anything, but you cant eat for awhile....thats the part that sucks!!
Reply:they give you anestisia for that so your numb when it happens but a couple of hours later it hurts a little so chill it wont hurt too much
Reply:Yes, but Novocaine and vicodin make it all better.

I had to use vicodins for about two weeks after I had my wisdom pulled. With four teeth being pulled, you're not going to be feeling all that great for at least that amount of time.

You wont die, but you might wish you did.

You will be fine though so don't be afraid. Just be prepared.
Reply:I had teeth pulled for my braces too. Most likely they're going to numb you with medication. You'll just feel alot of tugging, that's all. When one of my teeth were pulled I even heard a "pop" sound. It's not big deal, but even now I'm still scared to go to the dentist. It's the sound effects you hear in a dentist that remind you of some dang horror movie... :) J/K. You'll do good.

I guess no answer was good enough...just for that I hope they pull out 5 teeth... :)
Reply:No :] they'll give you an anasthaetic injection which hurts a little bit but then you don't feel anything

the worst part is actually thinking about it :] it's really not that bad [and this is coming from someone who was terrified before having my teeth taken out]
Reply:If they do it right, no. The first needle or two hurts, but I've never felt it was that bad, and it's over pretty quick. It's more the idea, I think, that makes people tense up which causes them to exaggerate the pain. After the Novocaine wears off, the area will be sore to the touch and ache, but aspirin (I've found) works wonders for the pain. After a day or two, it should bother you very little. Don't worry, if the dentist knows his stuff, you should be fine.
Reply:If they are the mollers or wisdum teeth they do,
Reply:It's going to be okay. I had to get 6 teeth pulled. You will make it. They numb you before. It looks scary when they get all their tools out. but don't be scared......It will be okay. You will feel like you look like a chipmunk when u get out. but you dont. Just remember in the future it will matter
Reply:you shouldnt be scared. it wont hurt at all. theyre going to numb you down and then they will pull them out

the only things youre going to feel are the shot for the novocaine and the force your dentist applies to the tooth to extract it. wont hurt a bit bcuz of the novocaine, but when they pull it wont hurt you but it will irritate you
Reply:hey im 14 too and i have to get 3 teeth pulled today in about 14 hours lol yes im counting down. im scared to death but i heard it doesnt hurt there is just some pressure. my sister had a tooth pulled out and it her hurt alot but it was for a different reason. hope ive helped. i wish for the best for both of us!!!
Reply:Yes, you could die.

Getting my wisdom teeth pulled out?

What can you and can u not be able to eat after wisdom teeth are pulled out??? Is soup okay or is that too hot??

Getting my wisdom teeth pulled out?
It probably would be too hot if you didn't let it cool a bit. Avoid salty stuff.
Reply:The only thing I remember from getting my wisdom teeth pulled was not being able to sip from a straw...I guess the suction would've pulled out the stitches. Good luck....you'll be pretty sore.
Reply:you gotta eat stuff that is not solid. like yogurt, soup (let it cool a bit before eating), jello, and plenty of fluids. don't drink from a straw. good luck with it all. I get mine out in a couple weeks. i'm so flippin scared.
Reply:NEVER EVER EVER USE A STRAW!

Hi, sorry for all caps, but that really is important to remember. If you use a straw, you can get what is called "Dry Sack" which is some sort of air that gets trapped where the wisdom teeth were removed. Then you get an infection as a result.
Reply:yes soup is fine
Reply:You probably wan't be able to eat anything for 24 hours or so. Your mouth will be too sore. Try milkshakes! The cold ice cream made my swelling go down and was about the only thing that I could eat.
Reply:the oral surgeon will give you a list of what you should and shouldn't do following the surgery. Follow it carefully and you will recover quickly.
Reply:Soup is okay but luke warm and smoothies are great. Anything easy to drink and eat. Also it depends on the person. I was eating Mc. Donalds on the second day and it took me about an hour. Lol! Also eat anyways or else you'll get locked jaw which is what I got. Also you might want t try sucking on hard candies but not biting them. Remember you have other teeth you can use.
Reply:You should rinse reall good, when the task is done. Then eat some good soup, and porridge for a couple of weeks. But right after the dental office, drink some 7 UP and lots of water. Believe me, having them pulled is not easy to go thorugh. When I did it,

doing what I just advised you to do, helped me. Greatly. I felt a little sick, in the dental chair, at first.
Reply:It just depends on how sensitive they are. You can let it cool down a little, but you might not be able to opne your mouth wide enough to get a spoon in there. Straws( and smoking) are out of the question because the sucking can cause bleeding. You can put the soup into a coffee mug and drink like that.

I was in my early 20's when I had all four of them taken out at the same time. I don't recall any major problems, just some soreness. I took 3 days off from work but could have gon back in two. Good luck!
Reply:I had all four of mine removed through surgery, I think that soup it's okay but wait for it to cool down a bit. Do not suck through a straw whatever you do, it can cause dry socket and I got that it's EXTREMELY PAINFULL! The dentist will give you specific instructions on what you can and cant have to eat but your looking at jello, apple sauce, yogurt, nothing but the mushy stuff for you
Reply:Jello will be your new food of choice. Pudding, warm soup-not hot. You will be ok. Our bodies heal amazingly quickly.
Reply:I didnt want to eat right after it hurt...but eating soft food and warm is probably best
Reply:its gonna hurt sooooooooooooo bad!

gud luck :D

I had wisdom teeth pulled, and one of my stitches came out..?

I had my Wisdom teeth pulled out on Thursday, it's still really sore, and my face is still swollen..just not as much as yesterday. And yesterday it started bleeding, and I don't know why, is this normal? And while I was sitting in the chair I tried to close my mouth and I got a sudden sharp pain, so I touched my top left hole and I felt this sharp hard thing is my mouth.

And today I was just sitting down, and I felt something weird in my mouth, and I spit it out, and it was one of my stitces, And I can't bend forward without it feeling like all the blood is going to center of my head, and I can't tilt my head backwards without my neck hurting, and my head feels like it wieghs a ton. Is this normal? and what should I do?

I had wisdom teeth pulled, and one of my stitches came out..?
You need to go to the doctor and get it stitched back up. If you don't, it will interfere with the healing process.
Reply:Don't Touch It! Gargle salt water and altenate between heat and ice.
Reply:The stitches are supposed to come out after a few days, but if you're feeling really terrible, you might be having a reaction to the anesthesia. I'd call your doctor and ask.

I'm getting teeth pulled out? Freaking out!?

I'm really scared about getting put to sleep, what does it feel like? I'm getting 4 teeth pulled out, bicuspids, the oral surgeon said it would take 15 minutes. I'm really scared. Any advice?

It's for my braces, and I'm getting IV. Help!

I'm getting teeth pulled out? Freaking out!?
I was in the same situation, I need 3 or 4 teeth taken out for the braces.

But I don't actually remember being put to fully sleep, I was just drowsy, during the removal, I don't remember being any pain, it was kind of an awkward feeling.

After its over, you should feel numb and your mouth will be a little swollen, you might be sore for a few hours but the next day you should be fine.
Reply:Be thankful ur getting put to sleep. I had to take out 4 teeth pulled out WIDE AWAKE....all they did was put the novacaine shot in my mouth to numb the pain before they pulled it out. I didnt feel pain whatsoever, but the novacaine needle freaked the crud outta me! I had like a panic attack cuz im terrified of needles...especially that thing!

If you'll be put to sleep, u wont feel a thing. Also, u wont get to see the whole pulling of ur teeth nor anything else. You will wake up with a bit of a swollen mouth and thats about it. You wont be under sever pain. U might have discomfort, though.

Best of luck to you.
Reply:You'll drift off, fall asleep, and before you know it, the dentist will be waking you up. Try to relax. It's not too bad.

My daughter also had to have teeth removed before braces.

You may be a little sore afterward though, but the dentist can prescribe pain medication as he or she sees fit
Reply:Dental has improved greatly and the long term results will be worth the discomfort. They will put IV in talk to you casually, maybe have you count back and thats all to it .AT home,, You will need mouthwash, if not a prescition one from dentist. and pain pills. Yoou should be given instrutions and someone should be with you to get you home and settled. Also prop up in bed to avoid the salavia choking you as you may not swallow much at first. IT will be fine. You will need to take it easy 2-3 days. *mamatx
Reply:I sell an amazing dental discount program that would help you if you are interested, please contact me. I will set up a time to call you to discuss this program.

I had 5 teeth pulled today,about 16 hrs ago,most bleeding has stopped,but one still bleeds a lil?

I had 5 teeth pulled 3 on right side one in front ,and one on left side I have been eating mashed potatoes and gravy, the gum on one on the right side started bleeding a lil bit, what is best way to keep it from bleeding? I have been drinking tropicanna peach papaya which seems to help the bleeding stop... My question is does Juice,or is juice helpful in stopping the bleeding and heal better, while preventing dry sockets?

I had 5 teeth pulled today,about 16 hrs ago,most bleeding has stopped,but one still bleeds a lil?
Cold foods and drinks would help but you should NEVER suck as this will reopen the wound (so a straw is out of the question).

Have some soft-serve ice cream (plain without any nuts or something) and avoid talking. Less movement, the colder the wounds, the faster it heals.
Reply:I'm not sure about juice. I've used warm salty water before and it helped me. Good luck!

How much does it cost to have teeth pulled with insurance?

i just got braces like two months ago and my last visit he told me i had sic weeks to get my four teeth pulled that need to be pulled.i wanna know how much its gonna cost me out of pocket.i have aetna and delta insurance.i have to get 4 teeth pulled.

How much does it cost to have teeth pulled with insurance?
Call your insurance companies. Most dental plans that I've seen will pay either 50 or 80%, %26amp; there's usually a deductible. Also, if you're thinking about getting put to sleep, ask if you're covered for that, some plans will only cover the local anesthesia %26amp; not the gas or IV sedation. You could also ask your dentist's office to file a pre-authorization with the insurance. When the insurance company responds with whether or not they're going to pay, they will usually give an estimate of what they're going to pay %26amp; what your out of pocket expense will be.
Reply:You've gotta call your insurance or call your Dentist. No point in asking here.

Does pulling out a non-wiggly tooth at the dentist hurt?

i am very nervous about getting my WAYYY back teeth pulled out :(

it's not even wiggly and it's at the WAY back which i heard hurts. sigh.

u r lucky your not me hehe.

Does pulling out a non-wiggly tooth at the dentist hurt?
I had my wisdom tooth and the tooth in front of it pulled yesterday and it really isn't as bad as you think. I never had to have a tooth pulled so I was nervous that it would be painful. When he pulled out my wisdom tooth all I really felt was pressure, but he had to work wih it. The other tooth he just got out really fast (less than a minute) with very little pressure. Be brave and don't scare yourself. A little pressure/pain is better than the alternative. Good luck.
Reply:The dentist will numb up the area and you shouldn't feel a thing, apart from maybe the injection.
Reply:Hi--they will FREEZE you--the freezing may actually hurt just so you know.

The tooth probably won't as once they pull it, your nerves will die all around the same time, the nerves are what bring the news to the brain that you are in pain.
Reply:good luck . glad it's not me. not too bad with a good dentist
Reply:I'm sure they will deaden it and you won't be able to feel anything while they are doing it. Like getting cavities filled....I'm sure it would hurt to feel your tooth getting drilled away but all you feel is a little vibration. You might feel some pressure but they aren't going to yank it out cold! That would be cruel.

Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon!
Reply:It usually doesn't hurt because they will more than likely numb the area. That usually takes a few seconds. Thats actually the most pain you will feel during the procedure.

After your numb you will likely feel the pressure of them pulling on the tooth. But, that doens't hurt. Believe me I've been there, I had my wisdom teeth removed several years ago. It'll be fine. Just follow the dentists after care plan. Take care~
Reply:They will numb the area with Novocaine, so it should not hurt. The Novocaine shot hurts a bit, but it's quick.
Reply:First of all, the dentist numbs your mouth. The needle just pinches a little. If it is a baby tooth it really shouldn't hurt because there is no root. If it is an adult tooth, the longer the root the more pain there will be. I had four adult teeth pulled at once. The pain just lasted a couple seconds each. It really wasn't that bad. Don't be nervous.

Smoking after Wisdom Teeth Pulled?

I just had my wisdom teeth pulled. All four of them were impacted. The doctor said no smoking for 24 hours after the surgery, and it has been over 24 hours. But my husband says I still shouldn't. Could I still get dry socket? Is it worth the risk?

Smoking after Wisdom Teeth Pulled?
Wait another 24 hours. I know that it sucks, but it is sooo much better than a dry socket. I had my first two taken out a few years ago and got a dry socket. Its not worth it - I promise. I am so grateful that I didn't get a dry socket on the last go around.
Reply:I'm just glad that you were able to get it done. Good luck!!! Report It

Reply:Thanks to you a child is going to get cancer from 2nd hand smoke, congratulations for killing a child everyday. Report It

Reply:wow honey its not worth the risk

wait an extra day

I got mine taken out a couple years ago and they were so deep in my mouth I had craters where they used to be for 6 months-I kid you not.

so gross, I had to clean the holes with q-tips :P

take it easy dear :)
Reply:u can still get a dry socket and they are not hard to get and they are definatly NOT worth the risk!! i know its hard but i would not smoke!!! dry sockets are the worst!!! good luck girl
Reply:if you havent' smoked for 24 hours...why pick another one up. If I could do that I'd have it made. RESIST!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:i saw yesterday u were getting that done! no, don't smoke or you will be in for trouble. don't use straws either. wait as long as you can...you should just quit smoking anyway.... :) I had all mine pulled a few years ago plus a couple months ago I had a molar pulled....drink lots of fluids and keep your mouth clean! (somebody doesn't like our answers! could it be a smoker?!) Jeez , if it means that much to you go light up a coffin nail!
Reply:No it's not worth the risk, the pain of a dry socket is unbelieveable. I know cos I didn't take the advice of the dentist. I know it's hard work and takes self control but give it another few hours.

Hope you get a good nights sleep x
Reply:not worth it...i had developed dry sockets after having my 4 teeth pulled one day and it was unpleasant
Reply:Your husband is right. I'd wait 72hrs. You'll know pain if you don't. lol.
Reply:When you smoke you create a partial vacuum in your mouth so the smoke flows into it. This could cause your damaged gingiva to bleed when you need to just let it heal

If you must get your nicotine fix,

I recommend that you stick the end of the cigarette in your nose, hold the other nostril closed with your finger, and breathe normally, the smoke will definately enter your lungs.

BTW, do not insert the lit end!
Reply:Well i was 17 when i had all 4 of mine pulled, and i smoked gingerly right after i came out mouth filled with gauz and all. I was a big chainsmoker, and went to a few smokes a day, so a big change for me..

but no i didnt get dry sockets, or anymore blood ozing than normal..

though i still wouldnt recommend it.

But don't worry, in a few years when you lose your esophagus from cancer you'll get a tracheotomy and you could smoke through that.

Or maybe you should just go to Mars and breathe carbon dioxide there, it's free and you won't be affecting millions of lives that way.

What are the chances of a dog having all 42 teeth pulled out during teeth cleaning?

My dog's breath stinks but when i see her teeth they arent that bad. What are the chances of all of her teeth getting pulled? Man that would cost a lot.

What are the chances of a dog having all 42 teeth pulled out during teeth cleaning?
What?

U R not serious, they would not do that anyway, if they did you need a new Vet.

If the dogs breath stinks have blood work done, could be liver problems, kidney problems, dog food, eating stuff outside that it does not need to be eating.

They have toothpaste you can put a little on a dog treat to help the teeth and breath, they also have stuff for the drinking water to help with the breath.

Talk to your Vet about the breath, they should lead you in the right direction.

Hopefully you are smart enough to not pull all the teeth.
Reply:i don't think that all of your dogs teeth would get pulled for bad breath. give your dog a greenie (it is a treat that is supposed to give them good breath)
Reply:If her teeth are not bad, the vet will not pull them. She may just have an infection - the vet will be able to tell. I can't imagine a dog having all their teeth pulled at once.
Reply:my cat had a mouth infection called BARTONELLA (I dont think I spelled that right) I am not sure if dogs can get it too but it can cause redness and swelling in the mouth and also VERY bad breath

Reply:If you got yout period the day before the surgery then you didn't conceive until after that. So you conceived sometime within the last month and you should be ok. When you do go see a Dr let them know your cycle dates and when you had your dental surgery, etc... Good Luck with your baby!
Reply:Just let your doctor know but everything will probably be okay. Some people may drink and/or smoke etc for a couple of months if they don't know they are pregnant.
Reply:Okay, when they tell you that you are, say, 6 weeks pregnant, you have NOT been pregnant for six weeks. They go by the first day of your last period, and at that point in time, you are not pregnant. You actually conceive about 2 weeks later, during ovulation.

That being said, you were not pregnant when you got your teeth pulled, so your baby will be fine.

I have taken some heavy painkillers before I found out I was pregnant (with my son, my first child). They told me as long as I wasn't still taking them, the baby would be fine, and he was!

Don't worry, because the stress isn't good, and it's for nothing.

If you're still concerned, ask your doctor when you go in for a confirmation pregnancy test, and he/she will lay your fears to rest.

Keep going to the dentist, though, because tooth decay/problems can lead to premature birth, and there are some tooth problems (gingivitis) that happen more frequently during pregnancy. I get gingivitis every time I'm pregnant, but have no problems when I'm not, so at least have your teeth cleaned once by your dentist in the next 4 or so months. Good luck

What's the usual reason people get their wisdom teeth pulled?

I'm just getting mine in, and I don't have as many teeth as most people do (I had several pulled to make room for growing teeth that were running into each other), so if I can keep mine I'd like to, I'm hoping it'll close the gaps between most of my teeth by taking up some extra space. But anyway, my new wisdom tooth is rubbing a sore into the inside of my cheek, and I was wondering if that's a reason to get it pulled? Why do most people do it? How do I know if it's really my wisdom tooth? I'm just guessing it is.

What's the usual reason people get their wisdom teeth pulled?
They are generally removed for the two reasons listed above: not enough room and/or infection. I still have all four of mine (I'm 47). They hurt bunches coming in. It took years for them to fully emerge - like 6-7 years. OUCH! The gums kept growing over them and then cutting back through. With the minimal amount of wisdom I have, I thought it best to keep them: despite the pain.

There is mixed feelings on whether they really need to come out. Most dentists will tell you that they HAVE to come out, but I believe that is so they can make this month's payment on the new Beemer they bought last month. Unless there is a real problem, I don't see any reason to remove them.

Good Luck to You!
Reply:Glad I could give a little info and help ya out. Have a good one.

Yes, YIKES on the teething for 6 years! I was a bummer... Report It

Reply:yeah , not enough room or risk of infection when they try to grow out - especially if impacted... and a lot of pain if they try to emerge w/o any room

although, i think 50% of wisdom teeth removals are just a scam to make money for the surgeon.... i know a lot of people who never got theirs out and they are perfectly fine.
Reply:I had only my top ones pulled because their wasn't enough room. My bottom ones are still intact, but I have a hard time flossing the bottom teeth.
Reply:Mine were impacted--meaning they were stuck down in the jawbone and not coming up properly...One was completely sideways and was pushing on the roots of the other teeth.

So they all had to come out.
Reply:b/c they hurt most people
Reply:They get stuck (impacted) between the back teeth and the jaw bone.
Reply:crowding and infection
Reply:they are usually removed due to lack of room for them. I had to have all 4 of mine removed because I didn't have enough space in my mouth for them...If I had kept them, they would have grown in and "squished" the rest of my teeth together and made them all crooked. I'm not sure why it would be rubbing your cheek...usually it just hurts your gums... I would definitely have the dentist check it out. He/She can tell you if you should really have them removed or if you'd be safe keeping them.
Reply:I had my pulled because they were coming in wrong@!~
Reply:They are generally removed because there's not enough room for them or because they're not coming in straight and are going to cause discomfort or injury. Ask your dentist to look at an x-ray and advise you about how yours are coming in and the pros and cons of keeping them.
Reply:If your dentist decides to pull them be sure and ask him if you can have them. They are made of Ivory.
Reply:Your dentist can take x-rays to make sure it is your wisdom tooth. After the tooth is out more, it may not hurt your cheek. People usually get wisdom teeth pulled if they're interfering with the position of the other teeth. Talk to your dentist.
Reply:If you are wealthy and or have great dental Insurance (great and dental insurance being a HUGE oxy-moron.) It is always better to get it done before it becomes a problem.

Wisdom teeth are the biggest teeth in your mouth. When they grow in, Usually in your 20's, your other teeth are already established and in. When the wisdom teeth come in they begin to push all of your other teeth forward and you rarely have enough room in your mouth to accomidate them.

When they push and push and there simply is not enough room left for them to grow out... They often become impacted and infected because with all of the skin around a half burried often sideways molar, food gets trapped in them and they rot. This causes infection and pain and pressure, sinus infections and sometimes the roots can become fused into the jawline and muscles. THAT... get's really painfull and really messy and requires an operation, stitches and antibiotics!
Reply:People usually get their wisdom teeth pulled either because their mouth isn't big enough and it would make their other teeth crooked, or they grow in sideways. Also, wisdom teeth that grow in the wrong wat can abscess and then you'll have a big swollen lump in your cheek.

You could ask your dentist if you should get it pulled, and yes it probably is your wisdom tooth. Most people have 32 teeth 28 are visible and the 4 wisdom molar teeth are under the gums and usually don't protrude until age 18 or 19 (some not until middle aged).
Reply:too much oral sex.

Will getting my teeth pulled hurt?

Next Monday I am getting two back teeth pulled (molars) out. I will have local anesthesia (Novacaine). I am getting it doen at 11:30am. Should I be ok to go back to work the next day? Will I be in alot of pain?

Will getting my teeth pulled hurt?
The shot they give you the Novacaine with will hurt like heck.....then they will yank the teeth.....then the next day you will look like a chipmunk and your jaw will ache for days and days.....

Then it will go away and you will be all good to go!! :)
Reply:no, Because they give you a shot the nums your mouth or you can request to be sleeping!
Reply:It is extremely painful. I had one 3 years ago. The Novacaine didn't help. It just swelled up my gums. EWW!
Reply:well wen i had mine pulled out they put som gel on my gum wich numbed the pain on top so it wont hurt that much
Reply:The dentist give you topical medication before giving u the shot. The type of anesthetic depends on the location of the teeth. The dentist is not supposed to pull your tooth until u r completely numb. He will check it by trying to pull it out, if u feel pain he is supposed to give u more anesthetic. When u get ur tooth pulled u aren't supposed to feel any pain at all only pressure from him pulling it out. After he pulls ur tooth do not spit, suck from a straw, or smoke for at least 24 hours. Change ur gauze so that there won't be any blood in ur mouth. This is b/c u can get a dry socket and it will hurt more than any toothache u will ever have. Depending on the extraction he can write u a prescription for pain just ask if u think that u will have any pain. It is not nearly as bad as it seems.
Reply:my sister just got teeth pulled. it will hurt, but afterwards suck on a teabag. it helps with the pain
Reply:i had my wisdom teeth pulled out and they used novacane after the numbness goes away u will bein pain tey will give you some vicodn to help ease tha pain. try to eat omthing b4 you take it tho it will make you sick. after a few days of puffy cheeks and tenderness you will be good to go
Reply:No. There is no pain when extracting teeth with the use of Novocain. In fact you can have your dentist calm your nerves with nitrous oxide (laughing gas). As long as it is not your canines you will be fine. You may be a little sore afterwards but will be gone within a day or two. Good Luck!!
Reply:generally getting an extraction doesn't hurt because you will be numb in some cases especially if the tooth is infected will you still feel pain after getting numb. The most you should feel is pressure and pushing and you will be okay to go to work following the appointment.

Just got wisdom teeth pulled and stitch came open.?

I got all four wisdom teeth pulled this morning and a stitch came open and I want to know what can help me prevent dry socket and how bad does it hurt?

Just got wisdom teeth pulled and stitch came open.?
No rinsing today. Do not use a straw with which to drink. Do not smoke. Do not eat hot things. Do not suck on the sockets.

Losing a stitch happens. Call the dds in the morning and see if they want you to come in. The stitch helps but it doesn't mean that you will lose the clot just because it (the stitch) came out.

Dry sockets hurt really badly. The way to tell if you are getting one is when the extraction sites are feeling a certain amount of tenderness and that tenderness starts to increase instead of getting better. If the sensitivity continues to increase, call the dds to have the tooth looked at. Don't wait for a couple days to see if it is gonna get better.
Reply:You need to go back to the doctor as soon as possible.
Reply:I would call the dentist who you went to in the first place, and ask if you need to come in to be restiched. You do NOT want a dry socket, as that is incredibly painful from what I hear, but if a single stitch came out, it still may be closed enough for you not to worry. Definately call them though.
Reply:ur scaring me im taking mines out tommrow

-13 and scared
Reply:Probably make no difference. The first 3-4 days rinse very gently with half peroxide, half water; just roll the liquid around and spit. If you have a dry socket, no one will have to tell you. Go back to the Dr. that removed the teeth and he will treat the socket. It will have to be irrigated and medicated. Usually no big deal if promptly treated.

Got my wisdom teeth pulled out 2 days ago and something is realy wrong here.?
As another said dry socket would be the first thing to think of. That is why one is supposed to swish with a saline solution here and there afterwards.

As others have said you simply MUST go to the emergency room. You could call your dentist and demand an appointment NOW as this may help you when you go to the emergency room. As I write this it is almost 3 PM on the east coast so anywhere you are you should get in. He or she could get you seen faster.

Regardless go to the hospital even if you have no insurance. The things that could happen if you don't are many...... you could actually die or be disfigured. Might be nothing and easily taken care of but why take the chance? Go to the emergency room NOW!
Reply:Sounds like dry socket. What that means is the area got very dry and it has possibly made it infected. See your dentist right away.
Reply:you need to get to an emergency room and quick, you have an infection and it could easily spread to your brain. Don't wait another second......MOVE.
Reply:It sounds like you got an infection and you need to get to the ER NOW!

You can lose nerve function in your face (facial droop) if you don't!

Read the instructions they sent you home with and you will see they say to get to a Doctor if redness or swelling happens.
Reply:My goodness you probally have an infection which can spread through out your body. Please get back to dentist and see what is what.
Reply:it's an infection...go to the ER!

Do you have to have your wisdom teeth pulled?

My dentist makes it sound like you have to. Both my parents still have all their wisdom teeth and they see no reason why I should have mines pulled. What happens if you dont get them pulled?

What about people in undeveloped countries, they dont die from not having thier Wisdom teeth pulled, right?

Do you have to have your wisdom teeth pulled?
Not everybody needs to have their wisdom teeth pulled. If someone tells you that you do, ask them to explain with the x-ray what is wrong and what will happen if you don't have them pulled. Have your B.S. detector turn on full.

However... If you look even close to this photo, the dentist is not tryign to rip you off.

Why remove a wisdom tooth?

http://www.members.aol.com/swf08302/wizd... shows one reason. This is what can happen by the time you are 40 or 50 if you leave a wisdom tooth in place when it is impacted. The red arrows on the x-ray show the grey area that has decayed due to the wisdom tooth being present under the gum. The tooth shown is the exact same tooth shown in the x-ray, but turned so you can see the cavity. Food and bacteria can get down there and you can't clean it out. Eventually, it makes a cavity in the tooth next to the wisdom tooth and makes it so you have to have BOTH teeth removed
Reply:Good luck! Report It

Reply:The answer is NO YOU DON'T. I am waiting for mine to grow. Wisdom teeth...you have more wisdom...why pull it out.

Who first started to pull them out anyway?

More teeth is better. Regular adults have 32 teeth. That includes 8 wisdom teeth, because I only have 24 teeth.
Reply:i hope not! I HATE GETTIN TEETH PULLEED!!
Reply:depends on the size of your jaw and the size of your teeth. The only reason for pulling them is if your jaw is too small to acommodate all your teeth. Some people have no need to pull their wisdom teeth because they have a big mouth =)
Reply:lol! Well, my parents had theirs pulled of and now it will be my turn. You wouldn't die if you wouldn't pull yours out. But sometimes more wisdom teeth keeps growing and it actually forces your front teeth to be crooked so I don't wanna have crooked teeth so I think the best answer would be pull it off.

People in undeveloped countries, well I've never heard of a case relating to that but like some people it takes a very long time before their wisdom tooth actually grows.
Reply:your wisdom teeth can impact your existing teeth, pushing them together. if the dentst says to get them pulled, do it. the younger you are, the better. I was 15 when i had mine done and was eating solid food the next day. My wife on the other hand waited until she was 23 and ate soup for a week. she stayed swollen and it took longer for her to heal
Reply:It all depends on what your dentist says. I had to have mine pulled because there was no room for them.

-- and people in underdeveloped countries DO get teeth pulled, however, not in a cushy dentist office with novocaine!
Reply:NO YOU DON'T. The reason why they are regularly pulled is because often there is not enough room in the mouth for the extra set of teeth so it crowds the others (possibly pushing them out of alignment). The other reason is because it is difficult to brush that far back.

A good reason to keep them though is that your teeth support each other and when you pull your wisdom teeth out it removes a support structure for the rest of the teeth allowing them to shift a bit.
Reply:Well, you don't HAVE to do anything I suppose, but if you are having trouble, or pain you will need to have them removed. Sometimes they come in sideways and can cause pain, swelling and infection and if they are too close to the other teeth they can cause premature cavities and rotting. You can wait and see how they come in. I had to have 3 of mine surgically removed by an oral surgeon and it was NO PICNIC!!! I couldn't take the pain relievers because the meds make me so sick to my stomach, so the brain of a surgeon told me to just take some aspirin, nice guy. I would get some second, third opinions and ask about pain relief for afterwards, what are the options if you can't take tylenol 3, the usually prescribed pain killer -- what else is your dentist/surgeon willing to prescribe. Will your dentist be doing the pulling? Will you need an oral surgeon, are they impacted? You need to ask lots of questions before they start pulling/operating on you. What about infections afterward -- how clean do things look around the office/exam areas. Note things like washing hands and wearing gloves and face masks while they are preforming routine dental work. If things don't seem right look elsewhere for care.
Reply:Have you ever heard the wise comment that when you get all of your wisdom teeth in then half of your life is over?? Well, I have to say that if that was true, then I have many more years to live. In 13 days I will be 35. I had a wisdom tooth try to come in for 10 years, finally the dentist had to cut it out, which he did not want to do. When you lose teeth, your teeth will shift and it cause a gap in your teeth and of course a dentist will do their best to get you to buy a partial or bridge if so. But it takes a long time for the gap to be significant enough to notice. 20 years ago, I had to have a molar pulled and in 1999 the wisdom tooth was cut-out. I have a slight gap, not even wide enough for a toothpick to fit through. You do not have to have your wisdom teeth pulled unless you have medical condition. Most people have only 4 wisdom teeth and some do not have any for some reason. I have never heard of 8 wisdom teeth nor have I heard of having your wisdom teeth pulled because it is hard to brush back there??? What kind of dentist tells a patient that?? I guess the same dentist that will not give a patient something for pain after having teeth pulled.

Have your dentist to show you your full mouth X-RAY so you can see where your wisdom teeth are. I know where mine are and unfortunately if they start to come in I will have to have removed because mine are growing along with my gums instead of down like a tooth should. Good luck.
Reply:No you do not have to have them pulled, but dentist suggest that you have them pulled if they are giving you problems
Reply:For me yes, because I have a small mouth and when they grew in it was starting to crowd the rest of my teeth, no room for them and they hurt all the time and swell my gums so I got them taken out and im fine now. if they are not bothering u or doing the same thing then you shouldnt have to worry. I know people that have never had theirs taken out and they're way older than me. Some get just 2 taken out, all or none.

I got my teeth pulled and i have none left, what can I eat?!?!?

My grandmother just got the last of her teeth pulled out of her mouth, so her mouth will be sore and healing for the next month. Can anyone help me to create some sort of a list of edible food for her?

I got my teeth pulled and i have none left, what can I eat?!?!?
Try smoothies and stuff. I don't reccomend this but my VARY daring friend couldn't eat solids for like a month so she but chicken fingers in the blender with ketchup
Reply:baby food and pudding
Reply:Everything....Just out of a straw.
Reply:When I had my teeth done, I ate mashed potatoes w/gravy, pudding and smoothies (yogurt, milk, maybe a banana). Some baby food is ok, but I didn't like them. Soup is good too.
Reply:well eat soft things or drink a lot of liquids or buy a chopper and chop all your food up
Reply:pudding

jello

puree veggies potatos,carrots,beans,ect...

energy drinks, Ensure ect...

Smothies
Reply:i had my teeth cut out at about 10 am and was eating chicken fried steak for dinner, she needs to toughen her gums, i still dont wear dentures and eat what ever i want except hard nuts, etc
Reply:In addition to all the good suggestions I think oatmeal is a healthy meal once in a while. I had the same thing done a few years back.
Reply:Buy her some of her favorite fruits and a REALLY nice blender.
Reply:She could get dentures - fake teeth.

Applesause, mashed potatos, soup, bananas, yogurt, raspberries, eggs, and soft breads will be good to eat.
Reply:mashed potatos, apple sauce, jello, pudding ,soft boiled eggs, nutritional drinks., oatmeal , baby fruits, anything put in a blender, ice cream, jogurt, creamed soups, milk shakes, smoohies, water ice, make a vegetable juice in a blender with veggies. in a blender put bananas and milk in a blender ,mashed sweet potatos, any kind of juice, farina, put cottage cheese in a blender with peaches. No straws please!!

Hope this helps
Reply:Starter's nutrition is a must and hope she gets her teeth back soon. Mashed potatoes. carrotts %26amp; turnip mashed, any meat she wants in a blender, puddings, jello any filling on a crumb crust, lemon pie, coconut cream pie, the list is endless! But please don't bite off more than you can chew. Solids you have no more teeth now we know but trying to venture eating solids will take a toll on your esophogus leading to choking it is a foreign substance to it with your teeth gone.

Good-Luck %26amp; Enjoy,

diana d
Reply:WOOH, think the straw comment very carefully, as she can get

dry sockets and they hurt real BAD, she can eat soft foods and liquids. Be sure to tell her to be careful with straws because she can accidently suction the clotted blood out and then there will be the "dry" socket...

best wishes
Reply:Soup...no chewing required!

Going to the dentist and getting my teeth pulled.?

Ok here's the thing I have 18 teeth left in my mouth, I could never afford insurance until now, my mom when I was younger could never afford insurance for me. So to say my teeth are really bad. I have cavities on all my teeth and I brush and floss regularly and use mouth wash. Some say it's genetics. But I am so scared to get all my teeth pulled and to get dentures, I am only 27. I am affriad that my self estem will go down, but I know that I will be able to smile again. Has anyone gone through this before and if so what did you do to boost your confidence up agian.

Going to the dentist and getting my teeth pulled.?
I have had false teeth since I was 12. I had an accident and lost my front teeth. Wore a partial until I was 30 when cavities and the result of that accident caught up to me. I had them pulled. It wasn't to bad. As long as you have pain meds you should be feeling better in a few days. I finally have straight teeth something I never had as well as no chips or cavities again. You don't have to take them out when you go to bed. I just soak mine in the morning and brush them when I brush mine other bottom teeth. They go were I go. They do not come out at night. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Good luck
Reply:rick did, he was changing a tire for his boss and the jack collapsed and the jack handle hit him in the mouth and broke off nearly all of his teeth, it took a while to heal and then he was fine. hes one handsome old devil too, hes now 75
Reply:just pull em yourself. You will save time, money, and you will definitly feel tough as hell, which will boost your confidence
Reply:Yes I'm going thru the same thing as you %26amp; I lost all my bottom teeth %26amp; now I'm having a partial plate made thank god for the dental clinic my treatments don't cost much there cause I still have no insurance but at least I can afford it.When my teeth got pulled it was a few at a time now I'm just waiting on my plate. At 1st I felt very bad now I can't wait 2 smile again lol.Good Luck
Reply:i have had teeth pulled but not all of them but my mom has at the age 27 and it is cool she will spit them teeth out in a min lol but it is OK i have bad teeth also and if you were to get all of them puller it hill not make you any less beautiful...
Reply:I was only 16 when I had to have all my teeth pulled and get a denture. If you have the right dentist, your denture will fit well and no one need know they aren't your natural teeth. I looked so good compare to the rotten teeth that were pulled, that my self confidence soared.
Reply:you should do it, false teeth are common, my husband has a partial and he is 27, i have fakies too cuz i broke some teeth doing dangerous things as an adolescent. good luck to you.

I need five teeth pulled?

i am on disibility and do not have a lot of money.does anyone know the least expensive dentist in Jacksonville fl. that i can have my teeth pulled.

Thank You

I need five teeth pulled?
Unfortunately, the closest dental school to Jacksonville would be the University of Florida's dental school in Gainesville, and that's 50 miles away from where you are so you might not be able to take advantage of their reduced fees.

You might contact your county health department and see if they have dental clinics-- Most county health departments have dental clinics that provide limited services such as extractions.

Hope this helps, and good luck.
Reply:find the nearest dental school, they may even do it for free.

Tongue Still Numb After Having Two Teeth Pulled on Tuesday?

Does anyone know if it is still normal for you tongue to be numb 48 hrs after you have had two teeth pulled in the bottom of your mouth? I had two teeth pulled on Tuesday and it is late thursday afternoon now and my tongue is still numb.

Tongue Still Numb After Having Two Teeth Pulled on Tuesday?
Often this is a result of the injection--it would require a really messy extraction to damage the lingual nerve (though I'm sure it's happened). Usually with lower molar extractions you're more concerned with the nerve serving the teeth and the lower lip.

The vast majority of the time, the kind of nerve damage you report heals by itself in from a few days to a few weeks. Occasionally it takes longer, and RARELY it is permanent.

Give it some time.

Reply:I had teeth pulled and it hurt for a long time but my tounge wasnt numb that long. try calling the place and asking the dr. that pulled um
Reply:They probably injected the numbing agent near or right on your nerve. You should call your dentist and find out.

Cheers
Reply:Not to scare you but when I got my wisdom teeth pulled having extending amounts of numbness could be permanent. I would call up the place where you went and ask. It is probably nothing but it doesn't hurt to be sure.
Reply:it depends on how much med:s he/she gave you ,if still numb tomorrow go to the dr: good luck...................

Should I still get my wisdom teeth pulled even if they grow in straight?

Im 17 and all of my wisdom teeth have come in. My top ones came in straight, but one on the bottom came in crooked and killed when it started coming in. I know I will have to get that one pulled but what about the top. They didnt affect my teeth at all and they felt fine coming in, but ive heard they can cause infection if they dont get pulled? Id prefer not to because of cost and pain and what not. But anyway what do you think?

Should I still get my wisdom teeth pulled even if they grow in straight?
If the dentist feels they should be pulled now, I'd let them pull them. It's better to get it done earlier than later, and healing is easier now than getting them removed in ten years.

They might not be causing problems now, but they can later.
Reply:A lot of times, wisdom teeth will rot even after they've come in straight. That's why most dentists recommend having them removed either way. You can always wait and see, but they rot from the inside out, so it can cause a lot of pain/infection issues.
Reply:Wisdom teeth don't necessarily cause infection just because they don't get pulled. Your body created them, and they're part of you -- they're not going to cause an infection on their own -- something else would have to happen to cause an infection.

See your dentist when you go for your regular cleaning, he or she may decide to pull them (some do -- because they're harder to reach when cleaning, or because they could potentially put pressure on other teeth), others prefer to leave them in, as long as there are no problems.
Reply:Coming in straight or crooked isn't the only concern. The real problem is shether or not your mouuh has enough space to handle the extra teeth - usually not.

I had all four of mine come in straight, no problems, no bleeding, nothing, just occasional pain where my lower jaw attaches to my skull. Turns out, I didn't have enough room for both tops and bottoms to come in fully and seat, so they were pushing each other back into my gums. Long story short - pulled one from top and one from bottom. Done. No surgery, took 5 minutes for each one with a shot of novacaine and a little pry bar.
Reply:as long as they came in straight and aren't crowding your other teeth they will be fine, my dad still has his top wisdom teeth at the age of 50 and he has never had a problem with them.
Reply:I got mine pulled at 35. Dentist said they came in straight and looked fine, but I had cavities in all of them. He said people just can't get back there with a brush so it's easier to have them pulled than to worry about them rotting.
Reply:I think you should get advice about that from your dentist.

Getting all 4 wisdom teeth pulled in 5 hours, what to eat after?

I am getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled today. 1 is not in the bone at all, two are partially, and one is completely. What can I eat after the surgery and the days following? I know I shouldn't use a straw or eat anything I have to chew. I figure mashed potatoes, jello, lukewarm soup, maybe some stage 3 baby food fruits, oatmeal and spaghettios (no meatballs), but what else? Any other tips on what to eat or anything at all to do with wisdom teeth extraction recovery would be helpful! I HATE THE DENTIST!!!!! Thanks!

Getting all 4 wisdom teeth pulled in 5 hours, what to eat after?
I would start our with nothing but liquids. Then slowly add very soft foods that you do not have to chew. Good Luck!!!!

I hate the Dentist also!!!!!
Reply:Thanks for choosing my answer. I am glad you are doing good. Just take it easy and I hope you have a speedy recovery!!! Report It

Reply:ICE CREAM
Reply:Today, it would be best to stick with cool, soft foods. Jello, cottage cheese, pudding, yogurt, etc for the first 24 hours while the clots are forming in the sockets. Its important to rinse with salt water after eating to remove food particles from incision sites. tomorrow you can change over to warm foods like mac %26amp; cheese, soup, mashed potatoes, and the like. Its important not to continue to spit blood out of your mouth post procedure. This will make it difficult for clots to form in the sockets and will cause continual bleeding-then spitting and bleeding becomes a viscious cycle. Fold some small gauze sponges into squares , place them in the areas where your teeth were extracted, then bite down for 5-10 minutes. this should stop bleeding. Good luck!+
Reply:Simple, ask your dentist, HE knows plenty. :-)
Reply:Chances are, you're not going to have an appetite for awhile anyway but all the foods you listed sound good......if you have some energy, make smoothiesw/spinach (it'll give you a lot of nutrients that other pureed foods lack)
Reply:omg!! i kn wt ur goin thru cuz i need 2 remove mine 2 but im waiting till the summer

but i heared its not eassy 2 remove them all at once
Reply:slushies from sonic are great! happy hour is from 2-4 everyday, half-priced drinks and slushes
Reply:First couple days, nothing but liquid. Oatmeal is sticky and it will be hard to brush/keep the wound area clean. Apple sauce and pudding might be good once you start feeling a bit better.

When do babys start pulling up to stuff and when do their first teeth come?

Babies pull to standing on average between 6 and 12 months (see sources section below). First teeth usually appear between 5 and 12 months. However, keep in mind that these are only *averages*; some normal babies will be early or late with any milestone.

When do babys start pulling up to stuff and when do their first teeth come?
they usually start pulling up to things between 7-9 months. teeth can start coming in as early as 3 months.
Reply:both my son and daughter were about 7 months when they started pulling up on furniture, my son was 5 months when he started teething, and my daughter was 8. I have heard of different ages on the teeth, as early as birth on having teeth, and honestly I think my son slowly teethed (which means he had teeth pushing through, they just didn't break surface until he was 5 months, but there were times before they broke surface where he was funny about nursing, and the bumps on his gums would look red and higher than they used to be, I would put abesol on his bumps/gums and a minute later he would nurse like normal).
Reply:There teeth usually come in around 5 months.

As far as pulling up usually around 8 months.

My kids cut in there first teeth at 11 months-----10 months---------5 months.

My kids all started pulling up to things between 6-7 months.

Every baby is different and will do things at different times then others.
Reply:my daughter is 6 months old - she started pulling herself all the way up about a week ago. and she just cut her first tooth about 4 days ago and i feel another one ready to come thru her gums.
Reply:I think i know what you mean by pulling up to stuff... like pulling themselves up from the floor, using a table as support? well with my son, he was 11 months, but i herd so many people tell me different ages, it just depends on the child! and with teeth, 6months he started and had one at 9minths and got them two at a time.
Reply:most babies start pulling up between 7-9 months. Their teeth just depends on each individual baby. My little boy got his 1st tooth at 4 months and has 8 now. He is 10 months. Alot of people tell me he has alot of teeth for his age.
Reply:They say it is normally about 6 months for teeth but it can come as early as 3 months. as far as pulling up well they say about 7+ months but every child is different I have a friend who's daughter started everything really young and she was about 3 months.
Reply:all babies are different. my sisters baby didnt start pulling up to stuff untill he was like 10 months old, but my baby is doing it now at 8 months old. about the teeth. my daughter has been teething since she was a couple of months old and still dont have a tooth. my step mother was born with a tooth.
Reply:any time it diff for each baby

I had my wisdom teeth pulled almost 3 years ago.....?

I had my wisdom teeth pulled out almost 3 years ago, but I occasionally still have those wisdom tooth pains in my gums.

could I possibly have an infection in my gums?

I had my wisdom teeth pulled almost 3 years ago.....?
yea probably. go to the dentist
Reply:No its called phantom pain
Reply:I had mine all out in about 1998 and since then whenever I'm coming down with something like a heavy cold or an ear/throat infection, the first symptom is an ache in the gums where my wisdom teeth used to be.

I assume it is

???

I got my wisdoms teeth pulled .. a few months ago...?
The socket area probably hasn't covered over completely yet, this usually takes several months to do. This leaves a "crevice" or small indentation that can easily "trap food" particles and leave it there even after brushing and a mild rinse. You may want to vigorously swish (which can take a few times of really hard swishing!) or lightly brush over and check the sites to make sure everything was removed during brushing, flossing and the through rinsing process. You can't dislodge any clots or reopen the site now, so clean them out really well and you'll taste and smell the difference in your mouth. This is a common complaint after extractions and happens to most patients during this filling in process which takes a different amount of time for each individual person. Hope I've been of some help, just give it a try and you'll see the difference immediately!
Reply:are you being good about brushing, flossing and swishing with mouthwash? It may be an infection, or rotting gums...call your dentist and have them check it out.
Reply:i would call the dentist. maybe its an infection.

Does it hurt to get braces and teeth pulled off?

I have to get braces because my teeth are to crowded and the orthodontist told me that I have to get 4 permanent teeth pulled out so can anyone give me advise on this question. Or if you had teeth pulled out for braces how much does it hurt?

Thanx

Does it hurt to get braces and teeth pulled off?
The same exact thing happened to me! Except, my mom asked if there was an alternative because she knew I would bite the ortho's finger off if he did anything like that. So, the orthodontist gave me an expander thing. It was installed on the roof (might be for the bottom for you) of my mouth. It's metal and it's not really noticeable from the outside. Every night, i had to crank it to make it expand more. It's purpose was to expand my teeth outward, so there was more room. , This went on for like, a few months.

If you don't want an expander, you can pull your teeth out. They don't numb it, sadly. :[ It's a quick and easy process. Assuming your orthodontist has pretty good strength, he can pull the tooth out really fast. They know how nervous you are, so they'll probably make it quick. I can't lie and say that it's not going to hurt, it's more like a pinch.

I hope you're unnerved

Edit:

I might as well answer that braces question too.

Getting braces doesn't really hurt. It's just a pain to get them on. First, they clean your teeth with this gray..gunk. It tastes really bad, so don't lick your teeth. Then they take this special glue and glue the brackets onto your teeth. This doesn't hurt at all. Then, they take this dryer thing similar to a hair dryer and just dry the glue. After that, they put these metal rings on your 4 backest teeth. I think they're called molars.. hmm.. This might hurt a little, but remember: No pain, no gain. For some orthodontists, they just leave it like that and wait until next week until they do the rest. For me..they just went ahead and put the wire in. Then, you choose a color of rubber band you want. They put it in and youre done! Oh wait, then they give you this tooth brushing kit and tell ya how to floss and brush. Now you're done!
Reply:yes.
Reply:No but you won't be able to keep your tounge off your teeth for 2 weeks afterwards.
Reply:It hurts BAD!!!!
Reply:it hurts
Reply:If you are going to be awake . . . . . . First what happens is they numb your mouth with a q-tip then give you a shot. The shot doesn't hurt because you are numb and after that everything goes by really smoothly.

If you are unconcious you have absoloutely NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT

Braces Don't Hurt! Not as bad as everyone says. Sometimes they might bug you but overall they aren't bad

trust me i'd know, the exact same thing have happened to me several times!
Reply:i dont know about braces but whe u get ur teeth pulled out it hurts like i dont know what for guys having someone cut off ur dick!which happened once gurls someone kicking u in da chest a million times over and over again
Reply:Braces don’t hurt when they put it on. At first it might feel weird in your mouth, but later you will get use to it. A few hours later it starts hurting. The next day is the WORST because it hurts so badly. Take some Advil or some pain pills. Then the 3rd day it kind of get better. You will get cuts in your mouth, but use the braces wax. I tried to use the braces wax, but it doesn’t stay on %26amp; don't worry if you swallowed it because nothing will happen. Later on you won’t get cuts because you build up tougher skin. I know what it's called, it starts w/ a C. It will hurt for a couple of days, but days %26amp; days past by it will get better. You won't even notice you have braces on. Probably they will be sore for about 3-7 days. For the first couple of days, you should eat soft food. You could eat food like oatmeal, mash potatoes, porridge, banana %26amp; other soft food.

I'm not sure about TEETH BEING PULLED. My friend had her pulls %26amp; she said it didnt hurt b/c they numb it first %26amp; then pull it.
Reply:lol i had to get 4 of my teeth pulled a few days ago for my braces too...well they do numb your mouth to help with the pain and all...but um yeah it hurts. Don't worry by the end of the day you'll feel a little better. Good luck T_T

Worried about my cat. Teeth pulled with anesthesia?!?

My cat just got a tooth pulled and a teeth cleaning today. The vet put him under anesthesia. He just got home. He has been walking back and forth, but I finally put him in his favorite bed. He is just laying there, but his eyes are watering and his toungue is slighty out. His breaths are at a faster than usual rate and really deep. When he exhales it kind of seems like it's shaking his whole body. Now my neighbors cat who also had this same thing done today is fine. He is eating and playing.

It's really freaking me out. He's 9 years old %26amp; we had all the proper tests done before saying he was ok for it.

Is this all normal?

Worried about my cat. Teeth pulled with anesthesia?!?
It doesn't sound normal to me, and at the vet hospital where I work we do dental cleanings and extractions every day. Usually the cats are up and eating and behaving normally within an hour after the end of the procedure.

I would call the vet, no matter what time it is, and discuss your cat's condition with him. I would definitely take him back to the vet in the morning so he can be examined.

Dental care is very important and is not a veterinary cash cow. Taking care of a pet's teeth can literally add years to its life and prevents all sorts of pain and illness .

Let us know how your cat is after the vet sees him.
Reply:He may be having a reaction to the anesthesia...my cat had a dental a few months ago..she did some weird wandering for a while . His tongue may be sticking out where the tooth was extracted...and it may go back into his mouth once he feels like himself again..which should start within 24 hours usually,....I am not sure why the breathing is like it is..but I suggest you call the vet and tell them..they may know of something they gave him that you may not know..Did he get any pain meds at the vet? My cat did and she got a lot of help from it... Did the vet use a gas for anesthesia? If he used something else it may take some more time to clear his system...but since you are so worried..I would definitely call the vet and let them know...I gave my cat wet food for a while until the extraction areas was healed. She had wet food for 2 weeks...to allow ample time for healing..
Reply:Different cats respond and "come out of" the general anesthesia differently and at different rates.

I must ask, was it a bad tooth that HAD TO come out and was the dental cleaning necessary????

In recent yrs., vets really "push" routine cleaning,... I think it's a cash cow for them and risky for animals to be put under general when NOT crucial to.

Especially on a more senior animal (but at same token a younger one prob. doesn't even need teeth cleaned) the "good responsible vets" would hesitate to put them under anesthesia unless absolutely life-threatening.

I hope within a few more hrs. your cat will be up and about.
Reply:poor cat.i know how you feel,my cat had 2 of her teeth pulled, too.she was acting kinda like yours but she was fine a day later.i guess she just slept it off.just in case i would call the vet and explain how the cat is behaving,he`ll know what to do.
Reply:It can take a full 24 hours before all the anesthesia is out of the cat's system (sometimes the injection kind lasts longer than the gas kind), but if he's having trouble breathing like that, you need to update your vet.

Hopefully he's walking steady, can track things with his eyes and moves his ears around listening to things. If he's not, he's too out of it yet and should be watched. Don't let him go down stairs or up on furniture, he could hurt himself falling off.
